I hear that the guy supplying the pictures/information ("Whiteguy" something?) will be taking notes on the combat system, which I am mostly focused on. Practically all the characters I wanted were in the first one, the new ones are just icing for me (Buff Roshi is obviously the the icing that causes orgasms).

But from what I have seen so far, combat looks a hell lot faster and varied :yes:

No diamond is Sakura on the DBZonps2 forums, how do i know? Same responses that she has on the other forums that she has here heh.

Anyways, the game is shaping up nicely, can't wait to see the notes on the combo system.

:S So shes the one always picking fights with people and always feels shes right i thought they seem the same.

Cui's Ultimate has been reported as 'Oh! Lord Frieza!', where he points behind the enemy in a 'Look out behind you!' manner, causing them to turn around, then he bombards them with a barrage of energy blasts :p

It would be cool if they added Z the Neko Majin, Kuriza or maybe Onio.

I'm still waiting to see if they are going to add "what-if" fusions and/or "what-if" stories.

I don't know if anyone else is following the IGN thread I linked, but it seems BT2 is taking a leaf out of both Budokai 3 and Super Dragon Ball Z's books regarding combos;

Oh, before I forget: Transformation update. When you have at least one favorite technique sphere stocked up, you can press R3 to transform up one form. BUT, if you press left, up, right, or down, you can transform into your first, second, third, and base forms, respectfully. Meaning that if you are playing base Goku and you press ^R3, he will turn SSJ2. Then, if you press <R3, he'll go down to SSJ, or you could go then to SSJ3 or base. So reverse transformations are possible.


AND, a new feature is available in MAX POWER mode. Besides being able to use combos that you couldn't use outside of MAX POWER mode, the [] button becomes an infinite chain attack, allowing you to build up your combo, while doing a bunch of damage.


The following are three of the most noteable of the combos, as I can't remember ALL of them:

1. []/\/\/\[]- A heavy finisher, a light blow, followed by three heavy blows and the last hit smashed your opponent away. By adding as many as three additional []'s at the beginning of the combo, you can increase the combo by that many hits.

2. [][][][] v/\ /\/\[]- This is my personal favorite. The first four hits are generally weak, but the v/\ trips up your opponent, the following two /\'s go into a teleport attack, then the last [] goes into a SECOND teleport attack, which can then be followed up with a Dragon Rush attack.

3. [][][][] ^/\ X/\[][][][]/\- Ultimate combo so far. Four weak attacks, ^/\ to knock 'em in the air, X pursues, /\ for a strong attack followed by four weak attacks and a finishing blow, straight into the ground.


There are MANY other combos, ranging from X/\/\, XO, to combining L2 with other buttons. Ex: After a Dragon Rush, /\X L2/\. I wish that I had been able to test these, but I didn't get many chances to play today. But tomorrow is the last day of Comic-Con, so there won't be many people there, so I should be able to have more on the combos tomorrow.


Also, I have witnessed taunting in Tenkaichi 2, but it was done by some one else, and not even HE knew how he did it, though he suspects it has something to do with the L1, since you can no longer break your lock-on by pressing L1 after you have already locked on.
Lots of juicy bits in there, the melee needed the most improvement imo, and it looks like that's where the focus is going.

Well I'm officially sold now. I waited for the melee aditions and I got them. I rarely used the triangle button button in melee, but now that it will play a larger role, as well as the L2 button, the combat looks more veried/fast paced. Espcially that "infite chain" part.

What worries me, is if up against a human, will you just be sitting there trying to land an attack while they block/dodge your smash attack, take there go, you block/dodge theirs, and repeat.

I think it'll be more like a proper beat-em-up in that regard, if you know the enemies combos, it's a lot easier to block/counter them, and with the variation of melee between different sized characters, and the fact that there's like, thirty combos confirmed so far, it's bound to be less likely to end up in that vicious circle.

EDIT: Cosmetic, but a nice touch;

Edit 2 - After reading to the end of the IGN boards topic, I found this quote by Whiteguy. Remember how Tenakichi 1 looked good, but no one ever really played it, and when we did it was terrible? Well Whiteguy actually played it, dispite it being bugged...and he had this to say at the end of all the questions.
Every new feature in Tenkaichi 2 (transform, teleport, combo system, etc.), without a doubt, have made this game THE single greatest DBZ game ever made.
There is hope.

I remember when we saw the first videos of the in-game transformations, and they were nothing more than an ugly pink swirl and some pink dots and everyone was very dissapointed and we sacrificed our young to appease Donny Clay.

Well apparently that was just a placeholder, character transformations now have short animations;

I was sure when i first saw that video it was a placeholder, the fact that you couldnt see 75% of his ki blasts when he was ssj3 and you could see the biped shaddows rather than player model shaddows were also another good indication of how early in development it was. This game does look godly atm. One thing (pretty much the only thing) i cud criticise is the scenery looks even less like dbz now, looks too realistic imo. If only there was an additional option to change it to manga cell shading like in sdbz (keep the beam sprites and stuff though.. sdbz sprites are cool but... not jaw dropping), if there was, i'd probably have an orgasm. Im kinda pissed that kid goku cant fly... i mean, he had nimbus right? why not in this game =[ Kid goku is by far my fav character in number one, he's untouchable D:
