I doubt that it will ever be as good as the anime but i'll go and pay my 7.50 to go see it, gotta give it a chance, and i also agree with everyone that says that piccolo is the closest that you could get, i think it looks good.
As for the saiyan hair, they'll probably won't make it as big, i've seen people with vegeta/goku type hair that wasn't big and didn't look all that bad.

piccolo doesn't look all that bad imo. and the movie has the potential to rock, if they get the casting right.
and about his antennae not being visible, they never were in the series when he was wearing his turban.

I think piccolo looks good because you have to think about this
1) piccolo isn't meant to look pretty, hes a green alien!
2) Piccolo looks skinny; makes sense, although piccolo wasn't skinny skinny; in the series compared to tien he was lean but strong. Also you have to use vision, you would want a tall lean muscular guy, then you have tien whos a tall but beefy guy. Now would you waste money cg'ing tien so he can look like he has much more muscle or have it naturally?
3) you guys say the movie will suck (most of you) well tell me can you give me the next powerball winnings!?! Funny how you guys make assumptions for a movie that hasn't even started production yet.Im neutral on this; I'll go see it, then ill see if it sucks or not. Looks like 2005 is the release date.
4) oh and finally , you guys complain about beams and stuff; well they are using lucas art cg team. The same cg/production team that made jurassic park and hulk (alright bad example). But i think they can pull it off.

I always imagined Piccollo would be played by some buff indian guy. I can't really tell what the actor in that picture is though.
:] I would have to say that that is a fake pic. Here are a couple of reasons:

2. At the official DBZ site, it has had no new news on the movie for a couple of months, and they dont have many details on the movie, which they should if it is going to be released in December.
3. It is already said to be released in 2005.

Well in fairness they called the first Pokemon movie "Pokemon the First Movie," and the latest one "Pokemon the 4th Movie."
It's just a pity the first one wasn't actually called "Pokemon the Only Movie"

but its part of a trilogy. They didnt call Star Wars: A New Hope Star Wars: The Movie (it was a trilogy at one time :S ) and The Fellowship of the Ring wasnt called Lord of the Rings: The Movie. It can be pulled off by a Pokemon movie directed towards children who can barely pronounce Pokemon, but this movie is supposed to be a serious movie, not necessarily directed towards children, but all ages (or it wouldnt be getting a PG-13 rating. They dont have Pikachu saying "ass"
). Anyway, i just dont think this is the DBZ movie that most of us are looking forward to.

No way. Seen the matrix Reloaded? All I thought through that whole movie was "SSJ effects everywhere..."
And that were CRAP graphics compared to others like Pirates of the Carribean.
it IS possible and I don't know why all of you morons are saying it's going to flop...you know damn well every DBZ fan will go see it at least once, and that's way more than enough to make a profit.
As long as Jackie Chan isn't playing Vegeta, this movie will be cool. Relax, guys.
EDIT: if they aren't filming till 2004 which we knoew from dragonballz.com, then where the hell did this picture come from? This has the potential to be so terrible, it'll actually be worth watching. The title "Dragonball Z: Fight For Man Kind" has got to be the worst movie title since "Attack of the Clones", and "Dragonball Z: The Movie" isn't much better.
The Piccolo isn't... too bad, in a rubber-mask kind of way, but it doesn't look like Piccolo. It's probably the lighting, but he just doesn't look green.
I'm not too worried about the whole foam-Saiyan hair thing, because if they pour enough money into this, they can get the CGI to do pretty much whatever they want.
On the bright side - if that picture isn't fake, then it shows that the movie is aiming for a 'serious' effect, and we're not getting the kids-version of DBZ that Funimation loves so much.
If they were selling this movie for pre-teens, we'd have an incredible new storyline where that rascal Vegeta tries to take sadness to Happy Land, and only Goku and his Magical Flying Nimbus can bring back Smiles to the Boo-Boo-Clouds. Will Piccolo and Gohan find Mr. Giggles and fix his Tricycle of Joy, or will the mean old Nappa manage to steal the meaning of Christmas!? Find out on the next exciting episode of "Dragonball Z: Fight for Man Kind!"

Methinks this could be a good movie, and i also noticed a lot of DBZ and Matrix similarities. The only thing I'm afraid of is the hair...no matter how good they make it look, it might look seriously funny on a notmal persons head ;/

ok this movie is ganna blow. and for the guy who said the xmen comment, that movi did suck. it had nothing to do with comic except the characters, and even the characters pasts arnt right.
wolverine and death strike knew each other before she got the claws. death strike does not have a healing factor to my knowledge.
colosus is russian, but in the movie he isnt
rougue can fly and has massive strength due to absorbing ms. marvels powers. and the in the movie she is just a weekling
mystic is night crawlers mother, and they dont even hint at it in th movie.
and pheonix should not even appear till the go into outer space but in xmen2 there she is at the end.
the dbz movie will probabily be like this all inconsistant and horrible.

Well i agree with SaiyanPrideXIX FULLY! I mean why the hell are you guys bringing this down if you dont know what they are gona look like? See thats the thing almost EVERYBODY is afraid of whats gonna happen to the characters or how PERFECT they HAVE to BE in order for them to enjoy it... :S I mean WTF guys? You dont know ANYTHING about this movie and you critisize it badly? All you know is they are making a movie off of it and you've only seen the actor that is gonna play piccolo..I mean my god guys why does everything have to be perfect for you?! Why judge it badly if you know nothing about it? Why not look on the good side of things? I mean they do have the Lucus Cpu Graphics Team signed with them. I mean i bet the special effects are gonna r0x0rz so much you wouldnt give a **** about the characters except maybe 1. I mean when all of you saw Matrix,(for example) all you were interested was the graphics and how the hell did they do that kind of shiz. I mean sure Neo was the one with the badass moves n such and you thought Neo was the bomb! DId this occur in your mind that well uhh uhh what happened to uhh uhh Niobe or Ghost? Did they ever occur to pop in your brain. I mean sure you like Morpheous n such BUT did it occur to you at the time when you saw Neo kick ass that you thought about Morpheous?
No, all you were interested in was Neo kicking some major Agent Smith ASS! Why does every character in this anime series HAVE TO BE PERFECT? Here is how i see it. Yes im interested in who they have play Goku, Vegeta and what not. But if its the closes thing they have to that character then i say they did a very nice job on hiring the right person to do it. Yes acting skillz have to be there (im an actor too so i know what to look for and when to just shut the **** up and watch) Most of the time i watch ^^. Like 80% of the time haha. But sometimes i catch things in movies that actors do that i go AH HA! Some of the best actors have flaws too ya know. So if they have good acting skillz then i say gj and GJ on the casting director that hired these ppl. Cuz most of the time they know what they are looking for. In this case they know EXACTLY what to look for due to all of the hints the anime series gives. So im not too worried about acting skillz n what not. O btw on the ssj hair...omg i never knew it came to the point that the hair mattered..Like ive been saying, if they get it as close as they can...GJ on the make-up artists/hair dressers etc. So i would gladly pay and spend my time on this movie. 1 more thing..when did the title matter also?? I mean does the title really REALLY matter?? If it says DBZ: Fight For Man! It HAS to be a little different because it's a MOVIE not a 200-some-odd episode series.
You're just close-minded. I love DBZ and anything DBZ related I like fairly well despite consistency.
You should be thankful they are even giving us a movie at all.
Also--the picture must be fake...it's dated December 23rd, a date which has no significance whatsoever...

that took a while to write >_<
anyways, we judge it to be rubbish for 4 things.
1: it is almost impossible in mine and many other opinions to get even close to the apperance of the characters
2: being based on what it is, its very possible that the characters would look pathetic launcing a final flash, lol >_<
3: who knows who's playing who? its possible with jackie chan and jet lee.. so god knows whats gonna happen,
4: the name of the movie says it all...
