actually, cell knew all the abilities because he could read it from their DNA, which was incorperated into him, including his ability to become stronger when he almost dies, and regeneration. these are all taken from the dna of fighters dr.gero collected.

this is also how cell learns instant translocation. when goku is destroyed, along with most of cell. cell regenerates with some of goku's new dna. giving him the new abilities goku has learned after gero's experiments..

Cell has the absorption ability to allow him use any new ability or capture new ability....like mjin buu. can u assume that majin buu is part of saiyan?? this is hilarious..and that was create by computer processed. the creater know cell would be defeated by goku( dr.gero was lose his job when Red army destroyed by goku.) he knoews goku is a monster so he must create a undefeatable machine---cell.

since the cell is created by many charator's dna...but still imcomplete, he doesnt know any attack of z warriors. so during first year research that dr. gero realize he need to find out and copy that attack deta from z warriors, than during the other 2 years he use to send the mini robot to match z warriors and study them( also cell's brian is a bio-computer.).

to be honest though, dont you at all get tired of comparing characters that:
1. never met, and therefor we can assume, the newer ones would indeed be stronger, since the weaker ones were illiminated earlier in time.
2. exist only in sideline movies, and are designed to be extreme, out of all probability, and be completely incomparable to the main storyline.

and comparing movie characters to saga characters is completely rediculous (unless the saga characters are in the movies). its like asking if frieza is stronger than broli, or if garlic jr would be able to defeat buu if he didnt get locked in the dead zone.

the movie bosses are specifically designed to be over the top, and inconsistant, otherwise the movies would be uninteresting to hardcore dbz fans, and also, would last a lot lot lot longer. since if the movie bosses were anything like the saga bosses, they would be better thought out, and would just be added to the saga in general.

So in reality [and in Dragon Ball Z] Cell had the DNA of most of the Z fighters, which includes their attacks, their heritage, their personalities, but with all that mixed in with a lot of the fighters that came to fight the Z warriors, furthered Cells being.

What does Buu have to do with anything? Majin Buu learns new techniques from absorbing fighters, and when the fighters are no longer a part of him, he can no longer perform the techniques; Buu learned the KaMeHaMeHa from watching it being performed, just like how Goku learned it by watching it being performed.

first, when cell created by computer that computer would process and save each ability from each dna unlike nature birth u will lost some ability from ur parent. also cell is homoculous. not like human or other race. absorption for cell, when cell blowed from the self-destruction and regenarate from other world, his cell r absorbing goku's dna and become a new stronger been. he could absorb the ability and watch it. for regenerate, he learn from piccolo when first time they met(some ability he already had, but he needs to re-open it).

trunks isnt a homoculous..... it couldn't possibly explain how likely they r. a real saiyan would not like this then trunks beaten so many time and heal so many time, but he hasnt grow up a bit( if he did has near death boost that he already kicking android's ass, not came to past to beg goku.)

guess u havent match fulllmatel archemist...cell was create by unnaturely solution than remake once again. it was created before gero gather the dna from frieza and z warriors than gero put the dna and remake again. in the final. gero plus a special ability for cell, that is absorption(in GT, cell was try to absorb goku for his own).

Trunks, like Vegeta, Goku, and Gohan, has the ability have a power increase after recovering from a battle. Not to mention Vegeta and Goku are way ahead of Trunks in terms of fighting/training/overall experience.
