And how would you explain trunks's purple hair...

No one actually knows why he has greenish-yellow hair, but if you notice, he doesnt have that color as a super saiyan, only in the beefed up form.
In his super saiyan form his hair color is just like every other super saiyan's hair.

And just for the record...RSS's hair is purple, not greenish-blue.
The aura gives that effect...If you check some refs you'll see what im talking about.
