did anyone else question how the aliens started to defrost? there really was no explanation that told how the aliens started unfreezing.... ( i think the queen was the only frozen one)

It happened because it happened every 100 years, period. Thats how the Predators set it up. They acted as gods, and came back every 100 years to breed and fight the ultimate prey.
