Don't bother, especially if you have XP. XP is really good at managing virtual memory heapsize, and the advantages of having a fixed file size are minimal thanks to faster drives.
If you have an older OS, you're better off sticking to somewhere between 250 and 500 MB, any more is a waste of storage.
