I've never really understood the American justice system...

Canada: Life in prison. (A lot of people, from what I've heard, think that life in prison in Canada is only 25 years. That is false. When you get life in prison, you're not eligible for parole until you've served a <i>minimum</i> of 25 years of your sentence. However, you can get sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole.)
United States of America: 102 years in prison.

I mean, one sounds meaner, oh noes 102 years!!! But who's going to live for another 102 years after they've committed the crime, let's say at age 25, in a prison of all places. It's just not going to happen.

That's just how we do things. There are certain crimes and each crime has a minimum to maximum amount of time to serve for those crimes. If you do enough illegal things, then all the amounts of time served adds up.

So, eventually if the number gets high enough, I suppose they get realistic and just say, "he's spending the rest of his life in prison."

Well did the guy kill someone? Doesnt look that way. Did he rape some 12 yr olds? Maybe, but that info wasnt givin. Did he atempt to murder anyone? Dont think so, so if he did do those kinda things, then i seriously doubt he will get 102 years in prison, the United States Justice System doesnt work that way, its an eye for a eye. Maybe they will take naked pics of him for 3 years and make him learn his lesson XD.

Yes, Yes, I know what it means. I want to know if rape and sodomy are one charge or two? Because like I said everytime I hear someone reading off the charge of rape, sodomy always follows it. Maybe I just hear of the people that perform both acts. So the question still stands, is it one charge or two?

No they are different. Rape is just forced sex, like forcing someone to have sex with you. Sodomy is going further, so its like assault and battery, assault is attacking someone, and battery is doing it without there consent. So, putting it nicly, sodomy is going further then just sex.

I have two views though. Some people can't help it, do we need to make people suffer like that. They usually have a mental proplem ya know? Not so simple as a guy who kills someone out of anger.

Get off the topic of Sodomy/Rape. Not all Sodomy is rape and not all rape involves Sodomy, you can look them up if you want more information.

102 years for having child porn makes no sense. For distributing it it still doesn't make sense, but it makes more sense. For actual rape, it makes perfect sense. I'm all for jailing/youthenizing rapists and giving child porn advocates jail time.

if a person got more than one life sentance that means they could go possibly into parole for one of them and even if they got off on that one theres still 2 other life sentances so hed have to get off on all 3 of them instead of just for instance the 102 years would be all taken off at once and thats that

He could always get an appeal, released maybe 20-25 years early or maybe even less. Anyways, I feel that if you lower yourself to these kind of standards.... you deserve more than just being locked in a cage.
