1.21 patch install w/o steam?

I dont use steam and cannot install the patch
The error message says "cannot find esf" and the strange part
is that when I type in the directory, it tells me the "folder already exists
do you wan to install anyways".
Select yes and it tells me it cannot find the folder.

Suggestions?

if you've got DoD Retail, I've to explain you howto install it ... since noone has it, I dunno the varables of it

if you've got HL, CS Retail or Steam, be sure that you've run it before and started at least one game ... then the installer should find the HL folder ...
but if it doesn't find it, you should be able to set it manually

I suggest you to install into a new created (empty) directory anywhere and move it into the HL dir then

PS: B1.2.1 is a Patch installer, so you need to install B1.2 first
