problem

Since installing the beta of Windows Media Player 11 my system has become borked in many aspects. Windows Media Player refuses to open at all (I rebooted after installation), attempting to watch any streaming video through websites gives me the error message 'Could not create DirectShow player'...

Oh ye of greater knowledge, I kind of need help. Occasionally whilst using a program (most often happens with MS Word 2k3 but sometimes happens whilst playing a game) my display will go blank for a couple of seconds and then reappear but anything that requires more use of my graphics card...

I just reinstalled steam, and half-life on my pc. And i cant seem to install ESF. Half-life doesnt seem to be showing in my steam list either... Do you know anyway i could get Half-life in my steamapps folder using steam? I wanna play agian :P
