decompile

When i go into Gmax i go open go to the models but none come up and if i go all files i cant open anything it comes up with errors why?

man i found the tool winbsp which uncompiles bsp files but, when i try to decompile some esf maps it crashes. im not trying to steal ppls work, i just want to edit the map so its better like wu_spacearena, i want to make the hallways bigger and the top walls a solid. can someone...

I was wondering if someone could tell me how to open an esf map with hammer editor?

how do u open models in milkshape? i went to decomplie halflife normal and went under esf but when i click on the model file nothing happens.... can someone plz help me out?

ok guys it seems that whenever my model is doing the distructo disc, the disc is in the MIDDLE OF HIS BODY, not above his hand, would anybody happen to know why is this? perhaps bone assignment has to do with this? does anybody know? i'd appreciate the help!

ive started my own model and was just wandering ahead of time if i would be able to skin it (though it might suck being my first one). other then that i just wanna know for future use thanx;)
