Well lets get the ball rolling, if this actually does happen do you think youtube will have something you will have to download yourself to your computer or do you think they will just hide it on our systems assuming we read their ToA?

Personally if this happens I will probably stop using youtube altogether I hate when websites install something to my computer without my confirmation of a dialog box popping up and me choosing if I want it on my system or not.

Myspace does it, Google (which owns youtube) has plans for it . . . they want your data, and Vista is promising to eliminate some of the tried and true ways of obtaining it. Digital freedom is near dead, and the final nail in the coffin for that will be the WWW 2. Following shortly on it's heels is the removal of your privacy.

What a horror show.

Post edited for blatant racism towards those of Chinese ethnicity. Don't think we put up with this here, or you will never post on these boards again. - Optimus Prime|

Uncover, why must you comment when you have no idea what you're talking about?

In order to gain entrance into the Chinese Market, Google was required to censor their searches. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm not even going to touch the war part of the post.

This has nothing to do with Youtube and the potential malware requirement for future movie viewing, please stick to the topic, because your ignorance about the reality and implications of blowing up other countries is really immature, and doesn't contribute to the intended discussion.

My question is: Why must you turn every thread into a political statement? This is about Youtube and how it has the potential of having spyware implimentned into it, and yet you turn it completely around and make it into a political statement about China.

Personally I loved youtube before it was bought out. So far nothing has changed which is good (not that I've seen anyway). But I have a feeling that someone is going to create a new video site similar to it.

This is how it is on youtube and break.com. Someone will post a video of a cat speaking spanish and the posters will turn the comments section into a political discussion and on break.com especially, it turns into a "stupid americans" rant...

Quick answer, people are stupid.

No more derailing this thread or any threads alike. We are actually having a real good discussion and lately all the threads have been going smoothly till some ass clown comes in and needs to ruin it. This shows you why we don't let certain discussions go on because theres too many immature kids around(Not saying all but a good handful) who like to derail threads and throw them way off topic. Now lets continue the discussion.

*Back on topic*

Before the complete nonsense started we had a good discussion going on but anyways.

What I'm most worried about is what kind of information and data are they going to collect from our systems? Theres got to be something wrong with what these company's are doing with spyware although I remember reading somewhere that some company's have sued people for calling their "adware" spyware and such so who knows when this nonsense is going to stop. Next we will see searching on google add "adware" to our pc's and who knows what can lead from there.

Isn't this a form of invasion of privacy though? And what information would a multi billion dollar company want from us anyway?

Web browsing habbits to sell to advertisers I assume. Regardless what the information is, they shouldn't be collecting anything.
