In the UK it goes School until year 11, then College for years 12 and 13, then Uni for 3 more years followed by a post-graduate degree for another 2 years...year...18?

I'm on the last year of college (13) and then off to university for a degree in English

When does school stop being compulsory? In Australia we can stop after year 10 but most stay onto year 12. Uni or TAFE usually follow.

You can legally stop at the end of Year 11 in the UK, most people get into College and stop there because you can get enough qualifications for a decent job. I'm hoping to go all the way and see how deep English goes. Plus i'd get a Ph.D (providing I pass) so i'd have Dr as my title. I'm aiming high

What's TAFE?

Its like a watered down version of uni for more practical courses.

Yeah. What he said. You don't need the final high school mark to get in, so its good for those who didn't do well. I wouldn't say its bad but imo Uni is better.
