I liked it and it looked to be very powerful. I just hope theý come up with some good interactive games that uses the new kinect and voice recognition. I also liked the "all in one" concept It was better than the PS4 presentation though.

So it's off-line capable but you can't buy used games and you can't use old games

Eh, I probably won't be getting either console tbh. The hardware and software is nice, but i don't buy used games because it's the better option. I buy them because I'm a poor as **** student which is the exact reason I also wait months to get really awesome games. That is, of course, unless they finally realize that the reason people buy used games is because most games are not worth 60 dollars. And take the price of the physical copies off of the overall price. THEN I'll invest in a 400 dollar box that is only just barely worthy of even drawing energy from the same source as my beastly cpu.

Yeah, they seem about equal. The only thing I have against Xbox is the multiplayer fee. Which is absolute bull, imo.

I'll just stick with Wii U. Both Wii and DS/3ds started off very slow and grew into powerhouses, so I'm really not worried about the current lack of support. And even with the lesser quality hardware specs, any games crated within the next 5 years will be usable on the thing. Just not at stunning graphics, which I'm cool with at $200 less than the competition.

Won't support 360 games.
Purchased games gotta be activated via internet and are associated to an account.
Won't support 360 joysticks and other 360 stuff.
High quality graphics wasn't a priority when making the console.
Won't work without Kinect.

I'm not into consoles, but PS4 looks like a better choice so far.

I wouldn't doubt that, indie games are a good way to get money without doing any work.

But wtf man, at least Sony and Nintendo -know- what their console is for. Gaming. Sometimes porn. I don't doubt Xbox will still sell pretty well, but I'm thinking Nintendo and Sony are gonna be the dominators in this gen. At this point I'm more curious what Valve is planning for Steambox.

Xbox One game, you'll get a unique code that you enter when you install that game. You'll have to connect to the Internet in order to authorize that code, and the code can only be used once. Once you use it, that game will then be linked to your Xbox Live account. "It sits on your harddrive and you have permission to play that game as long as you’d like," Harrison said.

Other users on the console will be able to play that game as well, Harrison said. So you don't need to buy multiple games per family. "With the built-in parental controls of the system it is shared amog the users of the device," he said.

But what if you want to bring a game disc to a friend's house and play there? You'll have to pay a fee—and not just some sort of activation fee, but the actual price of that game—in order to use a game's code on a friend's account. Think of it like a new game, Harrison said.

"They would be paying the same price we paid, or less?" we asked.

"Let’s assume it’s a new game, so the answer is yes, it will be the same price," Harrison said.

Yeah, the Wii U is all about gaming. I don't know who they're targeting with that console, but it sure as **** isn't me. Sony got people to buy their platform based on the cell processor and bluray player, of which most people didn't actually know anything about the former but assumed it meant "BETTER GRAPHICS!!". The difference between a 360 and PS3? The former has better framerates and the colors on a PS3 are slightly different ingame. Big whoop. But people bought the PS3 anyway because it had a bluray player. Microsoft is taking the concept of multitasking with consoles to a new level by essentially just making it a PC. It can do everything now, and that's what people are going to look at when determining which system to buy. Cost effectiveness. Most of the big name titles are going to be the same, so it comes down to exclusives and what else the system is capable of. Whine about paying all you like, but Live is superior to PSN. You are literally getting what you pay for.

Why do people overseas buy the PS3 over the 360? Why were they so afraid of it, especially in the beginning? First, name recognition. On the one hand, you had Sony coming off the success of the PSX and PS2. Fantastic systems. Microsoft came out with the xbox, which I played a couple of times and laughed at because it was monstrous and the controller was stupid, but it had a couple of good games. Nothing to justify buying it, though. I could just go to a friend's house. But things are different now. The 360 managed to come back from RRoDing for basically the first 2 generations, and release pretty good exclusives, be the better platform for multiplatforms, and have a larger online playerbase overall. Microsoft doesn't have to prove itself the way they did with the 360. Its their race to lose at this point. The best thing the PS4 has going for it is you can buy older generation games online and download them to your hdd. That's a non-issue to me personally, as games don't age particularly well for me unless its a fighting game or RPG, neither of which I play all that much these days, and if I do, they're available on the PC or through Xbox Live.

Also, number of times Microsoft has had my credit card information accessed by hackers? Zero.

Its going to be another race between Sony and Microsoft, but unless Sony starts releasing PS2 level exclusives, which I don't see happening for the sake of making money, they aren't going to blast the competition away. I think right now, the PS3 has outsold the 360 by a million units, which is incredible considering how many people won't touch a 360 (Looking at you, Asia).

There's a few reasons why I got a Wii U. The first being RPG's. Second being the ability to tell everyone that I have a Wii U. But the third, and most contributing factor for me is that little screen. The semi-portable gaming is perfect for me. In the few instances where I've seen the gamepad's functionalities fully thought through, it was really cool and added to the game. Like in ZombiU, it could be pretty nerve wracking to use the pad to search through your backpack, while your character whimpers and you hear zombie moans getting louder and closer.

I never got a PS3 or 360 because of the price, and microsofts subscription fee. If there was an exclusive game I wanted to play, I just mooched off a friend.

I don't personally doubt that the 360's online services are pretty epic, but you don't get what you pay for if you can't pay for it. It's a wonder I'm able to pay bills -and- get a new game every once in a while. (honestly, thank god Steam has those ridiculous sales). The problem I have with it is that gaming is already an extremely expensive hobby.

360 definitely had some cool shit, and I really do love the controller. It's alot more comfortable to use dual joysticks on the 360 controller than the dual shock. But it simply comes down to cost for me, and the worry that they're gonna be suffering on game support in their quest to generalize their "entertainment system". 60 to 120 dollars a year is just too much for me to spend in the long run. That's all money that can go towards drinking and gambling.
