I've been proding at this sig for the last couple days, throwing sprites on it, trying text tutorials.

Advice?

it looks empty maybe you should get a renderer in there

I'd say the first thing it needs is a bit of contrast. It looks a bit like fractals, which is good, but the colors look kinda washed out. Slap a color balance layer on there! :)

Yeah, it's a poor man's fractal made out of stroking with the lasso tool and adding filters on top of each other.

Here's 3 diff color balances with a sprite feather'd in.

I dunno... this sig seems like one of those dead-ends, where no image looks good on it, and it's best to find a high-end text design and call it a day.

That kind of sigs are not made to have a render in them :)

And synth. Remove those ugly renders and try fixing it with other efects and you will get a very nice resault.
Oh and i noticed that your renders are too smal :)
Also try looking in the google/net for some Cinema 4D ( C4d ) and input those renders in this

Actually, I think that in that "empty space" u might wanna darken up the colors a bit or put something else, I, for one, wouldn't change the whole thing, just add stuff.

<3 the juggernaught prototype. =P

I'd brush over the sprites a bit, or at least over their feet.. that way it looks like they're really in the sig instead of "on" there. The Gambit one is the best though, it has really crisp colours and just the right amount of contrast, although it could be a bit darker. But that's my personal preference. :p

20 Seconds of tinkering with the color balance:

Try playing with it on all 3 options, Highlights, Midtones and Shadows.
Aim for Yellow, Red, Blue and Magenta and you should have a similar result =)

Looks really cool though.

How about making it a little more rough and a wee bit darker?

A few copy pastes, filters and layer modes.

P.S. sorry for not asking permission to edit :p

Oh no... go right ahead.

It's cool to see people's color/contrast edits.

After taking some of Origin's advice... I found my niche... some color and not too bright or too dark.

I didnt add any extra layers, just press Ctrl+B and play around with the settings, all of them, Highlights, Midtones and Shadows.

Once you'll try it out you'll find the balance you want yourself with the colors, there are many awesome variations.

Tek, those are fractals :p They're supposed to be looking sharp. :)

And I'm so digging the new colour. It's awesome.

just because they're supposed to look sharp doesn't make them look good.
