What are you suggesting, banning better players so you could have noob games at publics? I don't get your problem, should I play like a damn idiot to "increase" your fun so you could have a few frags? Really, you should stop playing this and start playing chess or something like that, it isn't that complicated.

I'm not playing to ruin other's people fun, I'm there to HAVE fun and also SHARE it. I play with them quite frequently and if they're not around, I'm playing on public. And yes, you might see me pop out with a 150-3 score, so? Does that make me evil and bad just because I know some basics and proper melee? Please, spare me.

Really, you should visit my servers sometime. I'll make it VERY unpleasant and horrifying to you, to show you what real n00b treatment is. GameCity/thegamzone/Cx2/GSF, visit any of them.

Spam .... C'mon atol, you can do better than two words.

People, also keep in mind that we aren't *trying* to beat you and only you when we go into a server like that one. It takes me an average of 2 to 3 hits to kill an inexperienced player... melee once or twice, beam, blam. If I score 100 kills in 30 minutes it's because I'm killing a lot of people really fast, and if there are only 10 people in the room you've probably been killed by me 10 times, maybe 15, maybe 20 if you're unlucky enough. That doesn't mean I'm hunting you and only you, it means I get around, and you need to start looking out for me.

Atol, i know exactly how you feel. What i did to get good is to host my own servers. Play in 2v2's alot and that will improve your skills vastly as it did mine.

Now that i have gotten good and dont find many people who can beat me too often, i know how everyone else feels about the noob things. I know host my own server which is very "noob friendly." I am always teaching people how to play the game and giving them all the tips i know. One thing i do when there are a bunch of noobs who dont want to learn, then i ignore them. I just go collect the dragonballs while dodging their attacks. If they ever hit me, i usually hit them back and continue on my way. I very rarely go psycho on people unless the completely disrespect me (being admin) and piss me off.

I am a very good admin who does not tolerate disrespectful slander and disobeying the rules. One rule that i have is Transformation attacking...that pisses me off soooo much. Have you ever seen a fighter in DBZ get attacked while transforming....no! haha, anyways...if anyone does those things they will be warned several times and then eventually kicked.

For everyone: Noobs are very annoying and frustrating; however, if you put up with them they can eventually become a very good opponent

"Have you ever seen a fighter in DBZ get attacked while transforming....no!"

Wrong. Trunks attacks Cell, while he's transforming into Perfect Cell, and it is not effective.

lol. Well then, have you ever seen a Z-figther get attacked while transforming (thats what i really meant)? But still, you help me prove my point....no fighter in the series has ever been*harmed* while transforming. Is that better :laff:

Yeah but we can't restrict ourselves to what we've seen on the show. Have you ever seen Trunks successfull use the sword on another Z-fighter? Goku took no damage when he blocked on the show. Have you ever seen Trunks hit someone with the burning attack? He's only ever fired it once or twice and missed both times. Didn't Cell have more attacks than just the SBC, KMHMH, Gatling, Solar Flare, and the disc? He sure did. In fact, he also had finger laser. He could also absorb people with his tail, and when people "scanned" him he showed up as whoever's attack he was using at the time. Did frieza ever actually use the purple beam? Maybe he did, I don't remember seeing it.

See, if we start taking the game apart to be just like the show you'll end up screwing over lots of characters and unbalancing other ones, not to mention removing features. Beam jumping never worked like this on the show either. Transforming in ESF gives you a huge speed and power boost and it shouldn't be taken lightly, not to mention the number of times you will transform whether killed while transforming or not. If you were only transforming once in the game, sure, make it invulnarable, but unlike the show we die over and over and keep transforming.

Your wrong... in the show the fighters die over and over again, are wished back to life w/ dragonballs and keep transforming in life and in death. So your point is invalid.

A by the way, my intention was to never talk about unbalancing the game...we all know that not everything in ESF is the same as in DBZ, for balancing reasons...however, i think the community would like to keep the game as close as possilbe to the show w/o unbalancing the game. And that is the purpose of my rule...I do not think it unbalances the game at all unless one team is stacked and just smashing the other one.

Actually, Goku did a beamjump against final form Frieza in one of those episodes. "Clash of the Super Powers", maybe. I just happened to be watching it this week and noticed it. Also, I remember Goku doing a beam jump against Raditz with a kamehameha.

I'm not talking about *any* beam jump I mean with the physics it has in the game man. Beam jumps do happen in DB and DBZ just not like they do in the game.

And no, getting killed and getting wished by 60 times in the same episode has never happened, so my point is plenty valid.

sonic is right, this is just a game, and a game has balences.

first in 1.0 "lets make transformations immune to melee"

then when 1.1 came out "ew, some n00b is gheto blocking with the trnasform button"

now "lets make transformations invincible"

if they do that then we will get people going

"ew, some hax0r was blocking my FF / spirit bomb with a transform, this game sucks!"

No one said anything about making people invincible while transforming. I think you miss understood a post or two here.

My RULE in MY server is that people cannot intentionly harm someone while they are transforming. However, if a spirtbomb, final flash, etc. blows up half the map and kills them...then so be it.

Its just the curtious thing to do in my opinion. As i said earlier, remember the golden rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

If someone is being an arrogant punk they're a detriment to the community, as they bring down the image and ethics of everyone in ESF. Simple example is a new player who gets upset and yells hacker and cheater, and the person who starts spawn killing him so he leaves. From that, you get a bad view of new players, and then a bad view of experience players, with both of them seen as vindictive people out to ruin the experiences of others.

If someone is being a jerk, attack them, but don't take out your anger on the other people in the server. Shooting a big bang at them everytime they spawn on say Riverside is NOT the proper way to do something like this. Also, if they apologize and behave STOP going out of your way to grief them. There's a difference between teaching a jerk a lesson and becoming the jerk.

Sonic, while people don't go into a server like that, people have spoken time and time again on the forums about how if they see someone doing something they PERCIEVE as "unfair" they will go out of their way to make that player's time unenjoyable. While there are many good players I've found, I've also found a decent amount who are playing by their own set of rules and feel they have the right to ruin another player's experience.

Hehe... I've said this all before I think.

You will always find someone being a jerk, although I see maybe one or two per server. And they are told by everyone to stop being a jerk or to leave, and usually they do leave after a while.

The golden rule applies well, do unto others as they would do unto you.

What you're describing is a problem shared by many online games, unfortunately, and I'm afraid there isn't really much you can do about it.

The best course of action I can suggest is to not take things so seriously, ignore the petty insults, and just try to have fun playing the game. As a high-pinger I recognisesd the fact long ago that I will never be able to compete with the best low-ping players. I just took it all in my stride, played on my terms and ended up becoming a fairly decent player.

If the game still infuriates you despite your best attempts at indifference, take a break . . . take a Kit Kat. (Sorry I couldn't resist.)

All I said was not to expect anything. Not everybody is the same and most people, as you say, play by their own standards, which 90+% of the time aren't going to be the same as yours. Don't expect a player to do what you want them to. You don't drive a car always assuming everyone around you will always follow every rule... you'd probably end up dead in an accident pretty quick that way. There is defensive driving, and there are defensive playing styles in ESF. Don't make yourself an obvious target.

I agree with breaking even your own rules on people screaming "H4x0r!" and "n00b" all the time too. Once those people push me too far I just go nuts on them, no holds barred. It's a nice way to say "Hey, shut the hell up" without getting into a flame war.

I dont get this "fun" of having an unfair advantage, If wanted that Id play with bots....This is an online game....you have an Online Identity, and unless you have friends playing that you've met, you probably havent met the other person on the other side of the connection. Its up to you to what's proper, and whats fair, its real easy to do whatever you feel because there will be no punishment, or when you leave that person that you angered or upset doesnt exist...I dont want to judge anyone here, but I dont do whatever I want online or offline, I try to help out people.

CS is like this too, I am constantly geting a bad ratio or a low on (2/1) becuase I am trying to help some team out, even though I can take on everyone one of the players on the other team 1 on 1 without a problem, it give them an false sense of superiority, their score is so important, that they sacrafice the fun of others so they can show off there score to others.

basically you represent yourself, You ready to sacarfice your score for someone elses fun...well...that totally up to you..ALSO helping one person...then completely ignoring everyone else...doesnt work...10% of doing good doesn't make up for 90% of bad.

whatever you use to justify your actions people dont care....people that are truely helpiful, wont need to justify themselves, because there are no complaints about them.

Right on Gatsu!! Im the exact same way.

Id rather help out and watch something ive helped to get better and kick ass then raise my own stupid score.

In planetside, i love forming squads and watchign them kickass. If someone needs a ride but there are no available vehicles to jump on and im in one...i jump out and let my squad mate have it. That means i have to run the whole way to the next base, but its worth it. They are almost like my children o_o haha, ill shutup now, i get carried away sometimes

im not exactly sure how an experienced player can take pride in killing people new to a game. thats pretty pathetic dont you think? then again, why do people cheat in most other games?

i guess that being a human has a downside, competition.

cant get rid of it, deno out
