Well, its may sound as a really stupid sugestion...

But what if you could add characters, like the awsome brolly there is now, but without replacing models, instead of that, adding them, like some sort of update...or pakkage.

In quake 3 mod, BFP you could add characters, without losing others characters, wich made it "fun :scared: "... ESF is fun allready, and if this isn't possible, then its fine with me...

but could be fun, since then you could really have allot of characters in ESF... without losing others due to replacing...

Now don't tell me someone else has sugested this, since i didn't had time to read the sticky's. (bad boy!! ;/ )

I don't know if I like this idea at all. Because people would just give their characters all the best attacks, speed, pl multipliers, and so on. And it would create an unbalanced game. Also, what would your character look like to everybody else? ESF would have to create a "default" model that everyone else would see. Unless everyone else had the same model as you, they would see something else. Much like in Half-Life DM, when someone uses a custom model, and you don't have it, you see Gordon. Currently in ESF, if someone uses a custom model to replace Goku, everyone who doesn't have that model just sees Goku. However, since in your suggestion, you add a character without actually replacing anyone it couldn't be Goku, Vegeta, or Buu etc because they''re NOT Goku, they're a custom character,

Yeah.. sounds good in the first place.. but i don't think that would work..

If i remember correctly, BFP had ALOT of different chars added by other players, sometimes with the most insane attacks they could invent themselves.. ;/
It made the game kinda unfair imo..

Esf has a limited char selection, but they all have skills and attacks that cannot be changed.
What i would like to see though, is an empty secondary slot for every model. The model in that slot would kinda function like a different outfit in for example tekken3. The attacks, speed, starting PL etc would be exactly the same, only the model would be different.

That way we would still be able to add for example the new Brolly to the Vegeta secondary slot, but nothing else would have to be changed.
(At least not by the ESF team.)
This way we could also choose in wich form/outfit we want to use characters in 1.3. We could use the standard Trunks with jacket, or use the longhaired one created by a non-ESF team modeller, without having to go trough the fuss of switching models and stuff manually.. Or a custom android 17 for android 18 in 1.3.. :laff:
Other players would/might not see this secondary model as the one you have of course..

If different sprites, and animations could be assigned to the secondary slot as well, that would be even better, but i don't know if this is possible because of the fact that different models often use the same sprites/aura's/etc right now.. o_O

Well if any of you have played WWE games with create-a-wrestlers they have like a point system where your character can only have a certain number of points. Moves could be given points according to their damage. Having all the best moves would be impossible. Similarily depending on what moves and things you pick you can choose your speed and pl multiplier. I think the idea could be made to work.

Or You could multiply slots , say if you wanted to make a Cooler Model , you'd multiply the Frieza slot so there were 2 frieza's and replace one of them with cooler...
Same with Buu Vegeta Goku , and so on.
That way you wouldn't have to load the model of someone else to see it you'd just see the Frieza or if you had a multiplied slot , the custom character you had assigned.

Either way I think this'd be a really good idea.

Hey, yeah thats a good one...

What if there were limits to their powers... i mean, in BFP you could charge an atack really quickly and it was devastating at the same time, wich made it no fun, and unfair...

But what they implented something like this...

100 speed charge is maximum for beam, 1 is minimum..

100 power is maximum for beam, 1 is minimum...

So that would mean, if you would make a SB equivilant beam, in power, 99 power, it should be 1 charge speed.... and if it was 88 power, it should be 22 charch speed... like its a limit.

I like MajinDruu's idea the best, I have no problem putting a character over an existing character with the same stats and everything, but I don't want to lose a character doing so. Broly is cool but i'd never get rid of Vegeta, and I don't want to lose Frieza to Cooler (thought about it though) so yeah, excellent idea :yes::yes:

How possible/realistic is the idea? Can it be done?

I like MajinDruu's idea but what would happen with the sounds? If you duped the slot you would have to dup the folders along with it (with names like "Frieza dup" or something) so that you would be able to have them doing different sounds.

Well by duplication I mean the character would have everything duped , so it would all be the same but have a 2 on the end of everything.

So You'd have a folder like this :
Sounds->
Frieza-> (E.g) deathball.wav
Frieza2-> (E.g) deathball2.wav

That way everyone could have whatever model's they wanted without any crap of switching all the time , the only SERIOUS problem is if u wanted to add a bot like this , seeing as the bot guy left *Never knew him , never knew his name , only knew he left and that he made wonderful training bots*
Anyway , I'm sure it'd be entirely possible for this to be done , all you'd need is a add on like the super bot editor but "character duplicator"
with say
Character to be duplicated [Drop down list]
New Name Tag(As said in pervious post , given as the example of 2):[Text here]
Model to be used:[Drop down list]
[Button to do action]

I'd personally love to see this implemented in 1.2.2 however , If it were implimented in 1.3 I'd be very happy indeed.

if characters were chosen out of game then it would be easier to have added characters and have a default for when people are using a model you dont have.. (like how HLdm works, also specialists).

yeah and instead of a base model use the duped model if you dont have it

but like the specialists we would nd up with huge amounts of custom models which kinda takes the fun out of the game

And how does that take the fun out of it?
The people that wanted to see custom models would see custom models , the people that didn't would just see the base model that the custom model person duplicated from . It seems a win win for both sides if you ask me.
