well, I'm working on Vincent Valentine from FFVII as my first model and I have some pictures of the WiP to show, as well as a question.

first, the pictures:

these are two of my more recent screenshots. I intend to redo the legs and maybe the claw, but the rest will probably stay pretty much as it is. this model probably won't make it into ESF, since I don't know anything about skinning yet and the polycount is a bit too high. didn't quite spread the level of detail well enough... I'm modeling him using gmax, by the way.

second, my problem:

this is the head so far. the triangulation looks pretty bad to me, but I have no idea how to fix it. could anyone give me some tips on how to improve the head? also, is my approach (doing the front first, then the side) feasible?

The second, your problem pic does not work!

*edit* oh, it works again, i am sorry.

Anyway, you should try make the head using a sphere.

hehe vincent is my next planned model :p i already made most of him but not finnished...so dont be upset if i make a new thread about mine in the near future..

yours looks good, although, for the ammount of polies you used the arms and legs could use some more detail, like muscle, and the pants he wears dont just go straight, they kinda flare out in the middle like this.

the face is really bad... it has a not so good structure, and is very flat. curve it round a little more, and difine the cheek bones.

yeah, I know the legs are wrong. I'm going to redo them completely after I've finished the rest of him, anyway, because the waist also seems wrong to me.

I'll try to define the cheekbones and give the head more of a curve, but I don't know if I'll be able to do it right. somehow, the head just feels more difficult than the rest of the body.

oh, and don't worry about me getting upset, the more Vincent models, the better :)
the main reason I chose him as my first model is because there are too few Vincent models out there, anyway.

*edit* I'm going to properly define the entire face soon, but first I need to clean up what I have, so I need more help with that ATM.

*second edit* oh well, forget the face. I got rid of just about everything (except for the mouth, nose and eyes, which I only adjusted slightly) and have started poly by poly modeling the face using some photographs as refs. I'll adjust the shape afterwards.
