I knew they were going to run out, but never expected it was going to be yesterday. I saw it on the news as well.
I was gonna link the same, but its not exactly newbie friendly. This comparison between IPv4 and IPv6 would serve better, i think.
While its anoying due to the amount of the numbers, but i see no problems with using hexadecimal numbers ^^It's annoying though, writing an IP number is already enough work, IPv6 is a lot more work to write down:

Talk about confusing combinations.
I was thinking the same thing. Joining a private server is gonna be a total pain. It's annoying though, writing an IP number is already enough work, IPv6 is a lot more work to write down:

I never said there was anything wrong with using hexadecimal numbers. But this looks more like a key for a game or program. And the amount of times I have already mistyped those is enough for me to hate these new IP addresses already. While its anoying due to the amount of the numbers, but i see no problems with using hexadecimal numbers ^^
Hardware and crosscompatiblity isn't the issue. Most, if not all hardware already supports IPV6, it's just the ISP's lagging behind cause it's expensive. The real problem with running out of IPv4 is you need cross-compatible technology to read and interpret both, but yeah, it's really no big deal. The internet will go on.
