Meetings are done over IRC, so yes, the ability to use it is a key asset. As for the age, those are the rules set out by grOOvy and the dev team.

Ok guys, instead of posting how good you are and why you should be chosen in many different ways is kinda bad. Almost everyone post something similar to these: "Im ok if im not chosen... but I can do alot for this mod!! ", or "It's my birthday and this would make perfect birthday present", or smart ones goes with a long post saying all the different thing's, like Stryker did...

Stryker:

"I saw your home page, and I got very excited. I have been playing ESF since Alpha, and watching this game grow has been a pleasure for me...." and so on...

Also don't advertise your web sites, i dont think esf team likes that, or the ones who choose's the testers.

Let's be mature and let's forget this begging in different ways. You should just make that 30 words for the application as good as possible from my opinion and from what i've been told. I can't tell that how Groovy and the other's choose the tester's, but im almost sure that they don't pick you if you go begging in different ways.

So if you beg, atleast do it good.

You can agee with him in different ways (say, a pm, an email..) but not spamming up this thread, you are one spam post away from being unwelcomed in this thread, this is a ZERO tolerance rule for this thread. ;/

In all honesty, I'd highly recommend against it. The team hasn't worked on ESF for WON since the earlier development of 1.2. There would likely be a lot more issues if you tried to test on WON than on Steam. To that end, I guess it would be necessary to have Steam up and running to test. If you were to be picked, I'm sure we'd help you find a way to get you back into your account.

So - recapping: it's probably possible to test 1.3 on WON, but highly unrecommended because it was designed for Steam. I hope this info helps.

Just a Notice to Some

The ESF team will pick the members who dont just care about playing beta 1.3!
They will chose members who they can trust to help find bugs and not reveal secrets or changes to noone else but other than the beta testers.
They will NOT give you a place just for the beta 1.3 experience.

I have read this topic and through out the thread people comment on wanting to be able to play beta 1.3 before anyone else...etc etc this is not the right attitude to have, you should be wanting to help the ESF team/ beta testers to help build a good sucessful DBZ Mod!
Wanting to play the mod before anyone else is irrelevant and in my opinion "you" deserve not to be picked (whom ever thinks like this) but this isnt my choice but i know for a fact if i just happen to chosen i will give it my all to the ESF team/ beta testers and do what i was accepted for which will be to find any bugs, and be trustworthy to the team!

People that would like to be accepted into the beta fever will take notice of this as the ESF team have worked so hard and a special treat to us, they are giving us, the community, a place in the beta testers list.

Please show you're appreciation by helping them.

Thank You. :)

Yeah i agree Jayster, helping ESF team with this is much more better than telling that why you should have the place.

Now let's all clap our hands for ESF team from their good job, and support them with this application stuff, if we can.

Ummm Groovy, I was wondering that if you could answer to my question, even that it is somehow unnecessary question and won't help any of you guys, but im very curious, and i bet that some other people are too... So how many application's you have approximately received so far?

Applications close on the 24th, you're not too late, and signing up sooner isn't an advantage, everyone has a chance.

Great post, sir. This game has come a long way, and thats because of the great development process they have going for it. I know, everyone wants the newest version out as fast as possible, but thats not realistic. They have to fix as many things as they can possibly fine before they get it out the door. If all the beta testers do is just play and have fun, and not try find bugs, the game isn't going to benefit anymore than it would without you. If you are serious about wanting to help get a quality 1.3 out the door, your heart needs to be in the right place.

I'm sure the team will select the right people.

Unless I'm really lost, I'm pretty sure I've seen Beta Testers with access to the Force Pit. Now, this could be because they all paid and happened to be picked simultaneously for testing...

I'm pretty sure testers have access to the Force Pit, although, in the end, you'll still technically have info in advance, since you'll be testing the game out ;)

But, as I said, I believe testers are given Force Pit access.

If I'm mistaken, may grOOvy descend upon this thread and strike me down D:

EDIT - I just checked into it a bit. I see some testers without access to the Force Pit. I guess it was just a coincidence that several testers got access to the Pit before being picked as testers o_O

So I guess it's a no...

Again, grOOvy can clarify.

Yes, this is one of the best Half-Life modifications I ever played. Yeah I may suck at ESF but that doesn't mean I'm a newbie to the game. It would be an honor to help you guys find out bugs and test ESF.

Well, I added my name to the list as well. Hopefully those monthly Guild Wars beta tests will count, even though most people didn't do much testing in them. And hopefully my forum posts, albeit limited, might help show that I think things through before stating what I think. Well, just have to see, I guess. Either way, It's a definite sign of continued progress on 1.3, so we can all be really happy about that. Good Luck to everyone, and Pre-emptive Congrats to all those who get in!
