After watching over the budokai map preview I came up with an idea. At current (and from what I saw in that video hasn't been fixed) when you go to double tap swoop you see a couple of frames of the walk animation before the swoop kicks in and it looks a bit glitchy and rough.
My suggestion, At the start of the Run animation have a couple of frames dedicated to a slight 'dash' forward/back/left/right/up/down that smooths into the swoop a tad better, then if a swoop isn't activated the Run will continue. I must stress this 'dash' should be very limited, and that you don't acctually move any faster than the Run, it is just the jolt at the start of your running, for those who have played super mario sunshine, it would be very simmilar to when you try to run off the spot very quickly, and his first step is quite large and fast.
