eh, i wish they would concentrate more on developing actual gameplay/fighting/new characters mechanics and not final smash and other stuff, because you must know that for every final smash, they probably took out a character idea, or put him in the assist bin, because it took to long...

lets just say im not into gimmiks.

Well they still have months (+40 days worth of updates) to give us. It makes sense they would start off with the tip of the iceburg: New features, items, and characters.

This also give a basic overview. To know the machnics and full gameplay, you will need to play the game yourself. They will anounce new manuevers, stages, and move sets, but that would still not be enough since you have to actually play the game to understand.

nononno, i wish they just wouldnt do the final smashes/ other crap...

and just work on characters/moves/game play mechanics things that will actually affect the game competition wise, im sure you wont see any of this stuff in actual tournaments, just the bear basics 1v1, no items.

well time will tell i guess.

Yeah that's the thing you gotta test out yourself. I don't think those types of things are things that can be easily explained by words, so you have to find out yourself, which is pretty fun when you first boot up the game.

But the items, final smashes, and stages are a significant additions to the game. Most people will be messing around with the items, new specials, stages, and characters. Now there will be one single item that will have the power to sway the fight, more so than the home run bat.

But then there are people that are going to find the flattest stage, ignore the new items, and see how much fighting mechanics differ. This will be the first thing I do, but I would find it that I'd be ignoring all the other new content the game has to offer.

Actually, a lot of the items already have their strategic uses. It's a shame tournaments would see them as cheap.

Just because we're getting slow updates doesn't mean they just developed whatever it was the update is about.

It's likely that most of the stuff we're seeing has long been completed. They're just starting off with the slow stuff and now we're finally seeing some new info, like Final Smashes and such.

I think Final Smash items would be fun for normal play if you set their rate on the lowest possible setting. I really want to rampage around as Giga Bowser. Unlike the unreliability of some of the other FS moves so far, I know Giga Bowser will actually be worth using.

I don't know, Mario's Kamehameha thing looks like something I could get used to =D.

Hmmm. If Sonic were to be a character, and Bowser of all people can transform, then I see no reason why Sonic could not turn into Super Sonic for a bit.

Seriously if he is in it and after seeing Bowser's thing and Sonic's final smash is not Super Sonic, that will be a kick in the nuts. Twice.

You, nor anyone else knows how unreliable the other FS moves may be.

You don't know how they work, how they intiate.

Could be as simple as, while your flashing you hit the other person with melee and your final smash sequence starts, instant damage/KO.

kid boy GTFO

...seriosly though, if you're gonna talk about SSBB get your facts streight.

Sonic may not be in Smashbros AT ALL. And Giga bowser will only be able to be used for a few seconds AFTER you get final smash.

Kidboy is just talkin' ish :X. I issue a bet Kidboy, that Sonic will be in the game a fully playable character.

And I think he meant the move of Giga Bowser would be cheap, not that he was an actual character.

I will gladly take that bet. I say he will be a trophy character and you say a fully playable one.

I did mean that. The final smash item is really going to be odd, since it's brand new.

Eh, for them to put Knuckles in and not Sonic would like puting Luigi in and not Mario.

People have been begging for Sonic to be in, and they have been all hush hush about it. When you look at Sonic's recent games, you can easily see how he would fight (Especially if you played Sonic Battle for the GBA)

But yea, I would be surprised if they didnt add sonic but did add knuckles. And Roy > Marth > every other character > Sora

You, nor anyone else knows how unreliable the other FS moves may be.

You don't know how they work, how they intiate.

Could be as simple as, while your flashing you hit the other person with melee and your final smash sequence starts, instant damage/KO.
Mario Finale - Basically a Mario Kamehameha. Shoots one way in a cone-like form. I'm sure it can be avoided by jumping over it, getting below it, shielding/dodging, or jumping between the fireballs if it cones out far in a big stage. Probably the weakest of the 4 final smashes released, but depending on the stage size it might be the hardest to avoid, next to Giga Bowser.

Triforce Slash - Seems to affect only a single person for a lot of damage. Just get out of Link's way. The only way I can see this being even more dangerous is if Link dashes at someone and literally homes in on the person so evading is pointless. Probably the 3rd most dangerous of the 4 released final smashes since while it might work on one person, it'll probably set them up for an instant KO, if not already KO them.

Volt Tackle - Described to be a superpowered Quick Attack as it looks like. Shielding would seems to protect against it and since Pikachu is all over the place attacking everyone (if it's a small stage) then running is pointless. Chances are you'll get hit, but not with a huge amount of damage like the Triforce Slash or Mario Finale. You can also be near an edge so a Pikachu might not come after you in fear it'll kill itself if it wears off while attacking you on the edge. Overall, it's probably the 2nd most deadly of the 4 released final smashes due to it's unpredictability.

Giga Bowser - I say this is the most threatening final smash because it just is. First off, you have 100% full control. Giga Bowser goes where you say he goes. He does what you say he does. Also, there's very little you can try to avoid it:
-Shielding? Grab him.
-Dodging? Attack after dodge.
-Running? Hunt the ****er down and make him regret it, and also, on a small enough stage, running is pointless. Giga Bowser on Battlefield = Giga Bowser taking up 1/2 the whole stage.
-Attack to slow him down? Practically invincible so no point.
It seems the only way to protect yourself against Giga Bowser is to run away and hope he doesn't chase you. Considering all his moves will be all of Bowser's moves with 2x the power and range, and considering Bowser will probably have good attack priority already, Giga Bowser is a lot more dangerous than the other final smashes shown so far. Being in full control is more threatening than having little control.

This is all just logical speculation, so I don't want to hear a "you don't know for sure" speech from you again. I don't know for sure, but I can rationalize their effectiveness based on the information given.
