blu-ray player+game console=yes
I have all 3 of the consoles and I play the PS3 the most out of all of them. 360 gets a lot of screen time, but I only play Brawl and a rent here and there on my disappointing Wii
I actually *do* use the multimedia features on the PS3. I transfer my animations on it so I can play them on an HDTV, and I stick an SD card in to display pictures of family gatherings (pictures look wonderful on the PS3).
It also upscales regular DVDs, and since I have the original 60gb one, it upscales PS2/PS1 games as well. If you use a wired connection, you can play your PSP games online (instead of just ad-hoc with someone next to you) using a Japanese account.
Warhawk is probably one of the most fun and addicting games I've ever played. It's online only, but I highly highly suggest you get it. Uncharted is pretty epic as well. I enjoyed LittleBigPlanet, but I do not have time to sit there and create levels, so I returned it. You can mess around and complete official and custom levels either with a friend or someone online.
A lot of games are multi console, so based on game library, I could see why someone would just stick with a 360 if they had one. But, again, it supports the blu-ray format which can hold much more data than dvds.
Even when the PS3 first came out, I don't know why people are surprised that a multi media gaming machine AND a blu-ray player costs more than an xbox >_>. People loved the PS2, but once they saw the PS3's price tag, everyone went "lol ps3 sux"
