Sensing Energy waves/balls

Ok, instead of looking around trying to see if a beam is coming at you or not, how about being able to sense it 5 seconds before it hits you. Like in Half-Life when you get shot it tells you where it came from with arrows in the center of teh screen. It won't clutter up the scouter, nor will it make it impossible to hit someone, since beams travel fast, and it tells you 5 seconds before it hits you, it only gives you a SPLIT second to react.

Tell me what you think.

Not a bad idea, but 5 secs is too long. I'd suggest about two secs instead. And you should only sense strong attacks (let's say those, which could do more damage than 1/2 of your hp)

Yah, 2-5 seconds depending on the speed of the energy wave/ball. Since each wave/ball has a different speed.

Yeah cool idea..

But i have to agree with SSJ Picollo.. 5 seconds is much too long..
That's enough time to take another sip from the drink on your desk, scratch your head, and then teleport to safety.. ;)

2 seconds ~BEFORE IT HITS~ would be ideal..
And i also have to agree: Only when a really strong attack is closing in..
(Final flash, Big bang, the likes)
That way it would still require a lil' quick thinking to dodge the attack.. :laff:

EDIT: Come to think of it, i don't think it's possible to have a warning based on when the attack is gonna hit you.
Players can suddenly change the direction of their attack in a way it wouldn't take em 2 seconds to get to you.. What then? You have a vision before the attack telling you to move? ;)
Also, doesn't the need to calculate those attacks and when they are gonna hit slow down the server?

I think its best to have sort of a "Proximity alert" when a powerfull attack is coming too close..
Still, basically the idea is great..

You should rely on your own reflex for that if you ask me. If you cant see a big arse beam commin your way then you deserve to get hit by it.

This is off topic but as far as scouter goes, the 1 you have targeted should have a special symbol/marker for scouter.

don't know guys => in a server witha lot of players this system woudn't work. Al the time there would be a signal

Well.. it WOULD work if the beam is CLose to you.. so kinda a distance.. :) .. like.. you can sense things comming at you from 10 meters away from you.. so you can dodge the explosion


OR you can set energie waves as a radar selection.. instead of players.. you see energie dots.

Like I said, it'll warn you 2-4 seconds before the beam actually hits you. If your quick enough you might be able to dodge it, but if you catch it to late, kiss your ass goodbye. :p

Well, it might not matter, but there won't be sound. It'll just be a small arrow pointing where the attack is positioned.

This prolly dumb but instead of a arrow, how about on your scouter the person charging an attack there dot gets bigger, cause there using a lot of ki, cause you would be sensing the energy just like in the show, there charging an attack and then they look up, it would be like that someone is charges an attack and then you look to the side to see them let it go... so I don’t no maybe but prolly not :/ It would help people use the scouters more if there not already using them like they should be, and i think it would fix the problem.

i like dillinger's version of it best. the dot on the scouter should only grow a lil bit tho so that u have to be paying semi-close attension to notice it.

i dont think the dot should grow bigger, as this represents the person PL, and they are raising their PL they are just using what they have. Maybe their dot could change colour like in an incremental fashion.

I mean the dot could slowly fade from red to red/purple to purple/blue to blue depending on how long they charge the attack for.

I've also suggested a scouter mode that just detects ki attacks before as well. So you lose the benefit of knowing where players are, but can see the attacks coming for you.

I like the idea. but it couldn't do it for every...little...thing....
only when you have a fully charged kamahamaha or final flash, or sprit bomb. but with that said, Kid buu couldn't sense the MASSIVE Sprit bomb from earth, he had to see it, so maybe this shouldn't so in the game....

I've also suggested a scouter mode that just detects ki attacks before as well.
omg! i want that in the game! happened in dbz with radizt and piccolo if u care to remember.
if it was put into the game, it would be nice if u could see the power of a power struggle as well

All bad ideas.

At SSJ2 level transformations, they should implement "power sensing."

What this would be is something minor, like the scouter showing a flickering dot when someone is charging up a move. Easy and useful enough without doing all the work for everyone.
