Remove Basic Melee

You can call it just a game if you want, but when you ruin it for other players its enough.

I found this interesting because simple melee IS the game. The majority of the people that stick with the game stick not because of the beams, not because of advanced melee, but because of simple melee. You would be ruining the game for the majority of esf players if you "did something" about simple melee. If you don't like that, don't play it.

I'm just finding it rather humorous that the people calling it spam and unfair lameness probably don't have the ability to do it, and are frustraited to the point where they're blameing the game and the players, rather than themselves.

Basic melee is the reason some people still play the game, if you take that out, i cant see there being much attraction to playing the game.

yes , very ture , i coplained about swining , but then again , it's a good team co-op move in team mode , but on topic , if basic melee was taken out , there would be no such thing as "pwned" in esf i guess , noobs would also wine a lot more if basic melee was taken out

Basic melee is what makes the game fast paced shure there are some grate moves with advanced melee but only if you combine it with basic melee.
I say keap boath even though i mainly use basic melee.

Basic is the push-back and advanced is the arrows right?
I mastered advanced in a day. the only arrows I can't get are the 4-direction ones. I also learned to let a combo to go on longer for more arrow time in one day. It's really not that hard. The only people I really respect on the server now are people that have mastered basic. Although it's annoying that I can't touch them, they're experts and basic melee should stay in the game.

I still play ESF like a good'n because I like the melee systems as I'm average at both , however it is possible to be skillful with Advanced melee , I just haven't figured out how he does it yet...

If you don't have the skill to use it, then that's your problem, stick to fighting noob and lose every battle. This melee allows for many, MANY combinations, and is also very challenging to fight with.. I assume you're new to the game, and met a very skilled player which owned you into the ground with basic melee..

Basic melee requires minimum one month of hard training, before you're even decent at it, so I suggest you shut up on that point. I never drank coffee to get good in basic melee >.<

Advanced melee is so unskilled you won't believe how many noobs master it in a day, I know I did. Making a new kind of melee, maybe something to replace advanced melee? Because this melee isn't very advanced..

I suggest you lighten up to people of the community, actually. Chill out.

That also goes for everyone in the thread...the basic vs advance melee crusades get hostile, so let's keep it down.

Actually this basic melee works like those strong blow that knocks opponents away flying like in Budokai 3. Charge and strike. The basic melee should remain but it need some tweaks.

it doesnt need tweaks, and i hate noobs who cant use it. There will be the occasional noob who complains, but its usually the case some want to improve their simple melee technique and others that complain that im a n00b for not using advanced melee untill i kick them from the server. I can't stand advanced melee because of the the ****ing noobiness it posesses. wtf is so skillful about winning with luck? It doesnt even matter since your poll was already over from the second you started it. Simple melee is one of the most important factors of ESF, and i doubt it will ever be removed. If it is, all the pros will leave, and it will be left with you noobs beamspamming and throwing each other around in 1.3. It seems as though "n00bs are the future" would be wrong here Yo magus, you shoulda closed this as you knew it would end up ****ed up like this

I was against adv. melee too, until ppl started using that irretating 'technique'. I can do it too, but I know how ppl hate it. If some1 could do 4 hits to me in 1.1, it would have been amazing (to me atleast).
But now it's like its so easy to just roll ppl or kick them to walls, that a fight can end in less than 20 seconds. I don't know about you, but I hate short fights cuz they're not exciting.

It almost was removed from 1.2. It would have been if hal hadn't convinced joe to keep it in.

the fact is is that basic melee DOES need tweeks but the only tweek it needs is to be harder than it is right now. basic melee is actually mindlessly simple to use (not nearly as much as advanced but still pretty simple)

a noob can easily get a double hit and the quad-roll-hits can be done by people with only a few weeks experience without being taught

At least you have to press more than one arrow btton to "adv" melee.
