MrDomino...i have to disagree with you...Logo does not have to be simple. It can be 3d types and tranplants and crap. I have seen logo's that are'nt simple, and they rock...

ya see all those logos can probabily be identified without words or letters. granted they arnt to well drawn because i was in a hurry. but each one is very simple, and not over complicated.
alot of logos could even have the name in it.

and what does the use of emboss on that image try to do? make it look 3d, thus its a 3d effect :/

Unknown.. Please the following advice as a suggestion and not an opinion.
-Change "Half-life 2" to "HL2".
-English language brush up: "An Half-Life 2 mod" does not sound right at all. BUT "An HL2 Mod" sounds, and looks more acceptable.
-As for Plr^ and Sicron, i firmly believe that they dont know what they are talking about. For the kind of logo you have started making, a sword, shield or anything of the like would be out of the question unless you would be willing to spend alot of time on it. Putting them between the triangles and text would defeat the purpose of having that triangles there wouldnt it?
-Lastly, im sorry, but

Why is that you furiously ask? Simple. From what i know, Zelda is not a clean, pretty game. It is rough, it is dark in some ways aswell. A darker logo, with some .dark. brown wear and tear on the triangles and a rough, slightly brighter then the dark brown scratches red text would look great. Now dont get me wrong, i think that the 3d effect that the "Emboss" effect in photoshop which.. errrr.. GIVES YOU A 3D LOOK are fine, but just give them the rougher texture i was talking about. Goodluck.

Uch, what the hell does it matter what logo he uses, if it was me, just use both, and make an option to choose wich one you like.
I mean, come on, HL2 isn't even in the stores, and here we are, argueing what logo that mod must have.

Yeah that's a great point. Why design anything? It's just a waste of our time. Why have art at all? Do we need that excess stimulation? Do we need to create things of beauty?jp said:

Admittedly I went a little overboard. But the logo is the face of the mod. To say that the logo is unimportant is to say that design doesn't mean anything. Which is a fallacy.
What it comes down to is that if you see all the assets before you see the actual mod and you find that they are of low production value, you will logically conclude that the entire mod will be of the same value. It is necessary to produce high quality work to attract users.

These guys are working on a halflife 2 modification, but since the SDK isn't available yet they've started building the mod in UT2k4 and plan to port it over when the tools are released. We can't play it the way they want it to be played yet, but that didn't stop them from creating a design scheme for their site to generate interest.

the olny thing i think u need to change is put it back to hl2. aside form that its perfect. and i know nothing about immage programs infact i know so little i think i spelled immage rong. abot 90% of the people who download ur mod will be the same way(with out the spelling error).
