Hmm, it looked better without the new 3d effect. Just make it the color of the upper-right prism.

I cant emphasize how much you must change the "Halflife 2" back to "HL2".

Keep it simple.. Also, take away the 3d lighting looks you gave the text aswell as the triangles.

What you can do to improve it's look is make the triangle look abit darker and worn. Something like a rock wall but dont make it look like it is made of bricks or anything like that.

Lastly, "A HL2 mod" should be "An HL2 mod". ;)

I agree with Denominator, HL2 looks alot more neat and tidy, writing it all out makes it look crowded and messy.

it looks ok, but it could use some more stuff...like this, its too plain, like in the real zelda logo (from Link from the past, or whatever it was >.<) it had a sword trough it(shined a bit, blah blah)

6/10 so far...

Honestly I think you're doing too much with it, logos need to be simple. All those 3d effects just get in the way of communicating the basic idea, and they also muddy up the text. There needs to be a clearer visual separation between the tri-force and the text because the shadows are too close to the same color.

I think that the logo is better with "Halflife 2" spelled out. Using acronyms is dangerous because it makes the assumption that everyone knows what that acronym means and has the potential to alienate users. Maybe use Roman Numerals for the 2 since that is how it's presented in the Zelda games.

Other than that I'd be stuck at what to do. I really feel that you should incorporate the look of the Halfile design scheme in to the logo but I'm at a loss for how to do that now.

could you please translate that to normal english ? X-x what do u use for this forum? a big dictionary or sumthing

anyway i dont really agree with you simple logos idea, logos need to be very nice, not very simple (hard to explain) they need to stand out from the rest (like a webpage)

No, a logo needs to be simple because it needs to be instantly recognizable regardless of what you put it on or what size you print it. Remember, you are creating the face, the identity, of your mod with that logo. People have short attention spans, if they have to struggle with what your logo is for they won't waste the time.

An acronym is a name made of intitials for other words. As in RADAR, which stands for RAdio Detection And Ranging, or HL2 which stands for Half Life 2.
