@Chakra - In the game it says '1up 2up'. I have no idea why, but I wanted to use authentic sprites / graphics, aside from the exact text that was on the signs of course .

I think it stood for 1st User player and 2nd User Player, werd but I wouldn't be surprised. Lots of games used 1UP and 2UP in the era of gaming gone by.
