Yes, cancer is a horrible thing, and no one deserves it, no matter how horrible a person they may have been.

Cap, I'd probably change that. Regardless of our opinions about the man, the mods have been pretty ban happy lately, and a post like that, will probably not sit well.

I'm with Cap J on this one, Steve Jobs was an *******. People die every day. Why should I pay him more mind than those who starve to death?

I lol'd at that..

And on a serious note; I couldn't care less about his death, and I don't get why people are so upset..

He was a big public figure loved by some/many. That's the logical answer.
Actually I had just finished listening his 2005 Stanford speech and i really like it, i found it inspiring. So RIP.

@Kilbride: First, there are worse things one can die from than cancer. Cancer is probably the least a mass murderer should suffer from. Secondly, no one has ever been banned on this forum for stating an opinion about a public figure. A religious figure, perhaps, but though some may not want to admit it, Jobs does not fit into that category.

While I dont use apple products, Im sure through their innovation Ive benefited in some way. After all, witgout the iPod, there provably would never have been a zune, and I love my zune. As a man, while accomplished in his field, he came across as a dick to me. How do you make that much money and donate so little to charities? And then the sweatshop working conditions, the suicides, etc. It paints the picture of a man to me who wanted to succeed, at all costs. He'd plow through anyone, and screw anyone over who wasnt part of what he saw as the end game.

nyway, hes dead now.

I pay my respects to the man. He managed to touch the world.
Everytime you use your mouse and your fancy graphics user interface, just remember who created that. Xerox.
But dont forget about the man who practically stole that technology and relabeled it and called it Mac OS. Steve Wozniak.
Wait.... what did Steve Jobs do anyways? He was the visionary? the inspiration?
the holy icon of the apple community that was fired and hired back?
But seriously he will be remembered forever. Just waiting for apple's new product to capitalize on this. :fight:
