PS2 vs X-box

I don't own any consoles. I'v played them all (extensivly) and if I went out to buy one right now, unfortinuatly it would be an X-Box (I cant believe I said that).

X-box is the best, but IMO nothing comes close to a good ol' PC. I'm a PC die hard. The last console I ever owned was the SNES (BY FAR the best console EVER made), and its got the greatest games. I like all the consoles to a degree, but the X-Box is superior to PS2 or GameCube.

I can't believe I just supported an X-Box... >_<!

A console doesn't make easier and better gameplay, the game does >.>
Plus the xbox has a new, much smaller offical controller (i haven't seen the big ones on sale anywhere this year) which i find better than the ps2 and gamecube controller.

The PS2's controller may not make the gameplay easier, but the buttons are easier to reach for and it fits perfectly in any hand ive ever seen. Plus, it gives more potential for easier and better gameplay. I havent seen the new Xbox controller so I dont know anything about that, but from what I remember it was harder. And if all they did is take the controller and make it smaller, well, then it still wouldnt be as good as the PS2 one.

Ps2 games are alright. But like i said...If you take a look what is coming up for xbox it blows ps2 lineup out of the water.


Xbox even coming out with a online fighting game. That is what i wanted the consoles online for. I dont understand why the hell ps2 not looked into it.

Nah, they changed some of the layout as well. I like the PS2 controller as well, but it did give me cramp in my palm when i played a few games (like Ace Combat 4)

X-box wouldn't be half as special to me if it weren't for x-box live. Its a great service, ultimatly reliable and really cheap. Its the ultimate in console gaming experience (especially when your playing with a few of your mates as well)

ps2, simply because the system has a lot better games. all i see for xbox is sports games *cant stand sports games* and ps2 has a smoother look lol, xbox is like a huge dvd player that you would buy when they were first around. also who wants to buy the dvd player to put on their system after you buy it for like $150 already!.....also Kingdom Hearts is on the ps2 only and for that reason alone is my reason for a ps2 =P

Uhhh best ninja game?!?....Ha!!! Comon NS, Its basically one of the Best Games period!!!!! When i play NG, it reminds me of DMC, although DMC dosent have anything on NG!!! DMC is still a pretty awsome game ^^



If you couldnt find a reason to buy and xbox, then NG & Halo should be reason enough alone to buy it which is the only reason i have one now.

Otherwise there's really no other reason for buying and xbox, Xbox live is cool, and yet has no good games to play on it... and besides u can still play pc games online so thats out the window.... ripping tracks on the hard drive...(so that can be done on PC)... Loading times are better (So what PS2 loading times is usally a good 6-8 seconds behind the Xbox, its not that long of a wait -_-)

Personally, my favorite console is the gamecube, but since that isnt in the listing, im gonna go with the PS2 ^^ Better games, better controls, and the graphics may not be better, but there top notch and still impressive at times. Some people still claim FF7 to be the best game ever, and yet the graphics arent nearly as good as the PS2 Installments. That just goes too show u that Gameplay elements & Replay Value is far more important than Graphics will ever be

Your point about FF7 (Got my attention because I'm playing the game right now), fair enough, it's one of the best games ever and yet the graphics are terrible, but it would have been so much better if it had the graphics of FFX. It's kind of the same with the PS2 games, they're all great, but you could get an Xbox and buy most of the same games but with better graphics and framerates and they'll feel so much better.

Which one to buy however depends on your choice of games. What games do you want? If there are a lot of PS2 exclusive games you want like DMC3, San Andreas and MGS3 then obviously a PS2 would be a worthy investment. Of course if there are Xbox exclusives you like such as Fable and Halo 2 then buy an Xbox. Also, an Xbox is probably your best bet if you're looking to buy multiplatform games too since they usually come with some extra graphical treats.

Graphics partially make a game, play Chronicles of Rid**** on the xbox, and the feeling you get (it has the best xbox graphics I've ever seen). it does add something in my oppinion. however the PS2 has more games. so it's really the games that sell the console.

My vote goes for XBox, I have it myself and there are pretty much good games out and coming out very soon. Halo 2, Sudeki, Fable, Half-Life 2, Doom 3 etc,. it's all gonna be good.

if you like multiplayer. I would also go for the xbox. xbox live is much more stable than the PS2 online variant.

The harddrive pretty much finishes it. you can save a lot of money cause you do not need to buy memory cards.

my vote: xbox.

The guy obviously knows nothing of the Xbox period. also it's outdated.

I personally like the ps2 more then the x-box. Gfx are fine and I like there games alot better. The only thing i'd want from x-box is dead or alive,ninja gaiden, and halo but besides that it gives me nothing I like. Also the controller is big and bulky, and I need to buy a controller to use the dvd player pssh. But I think its just that the x-box appeals to more pc-gamer fans then more console only gaming fans in a way. But w/e point being I like ps2 and x-box but i prefer ps2.
