Problem

Im using steam,original half life.When i start up half life and change to esf all is ok.When i go to create a lan game,it stops for a sec,and then Half life Closes and says:Half life Stopped Working.Any sollutions?ive tryed reinstall them both and the same problem comes up.

It should be enough, I think. What is your graphics card?

Does the game only crash in LAN mode, or does it also crash when you just try to connect to some server?

Depends a lot on the vidcard

I think its not vid card.Before a month it was playing fine,then i unistalled it and reinstalled it so i have this problem...

At low settings it might be able to play it. The 9400 is a really crappy card.

One thing that bugs me.

That right there is one big contradiction.

You say you have STEAM + an original Half Life, and in the next sentence you say you do something that doesnt exist in STEAM. There is no switch to modification option with STEAM. Never was except if you were using the hacked version of the thing.

So can you explain that little mishap before we continue this topic.

Grega before i buyed half life i did that,now i dont use the hacked version i am opening the esf icon and takes to main menu of esf.Sorry i know it sounded like something but my english sucks

Video Specs are usually very easy to find under your hardware settings..

Desktop --> My computer / Computer --> Right mouse button --> Properties --> Device Manager and under "display drivers" you should see your current video card/drivers you are using.

Or simply go to START => Run => Dxdiag => Display
I think it's more simple

On topic: WTF? That never really happened to me. I don't really use STEAM, but.. Even without using it I never got that error. I think I've seen it when I used the hacked version of STEAM

The 8400GS only gets like 1600 3Dmarks, it is really a card that isn't meant for gaming, but more for watching HD video and doing basic stuff in Windows. It isn't that much better than any integrated card. You might be able to play 1.3 with all shader settings turned off, all texture settings to low, all other settings to the lowest as well and a pretty low resolution. (1024x786 might already be pushing it.). You must keep in mind that ESF:F uses models with nearly 3 times the amount of poly's the current models have, maps with many more triangles, advanced shaders, advanced textures, etc. I think it is time for you to upgrade your videocard if you want to play ESF:F.

Then what card must i buy to play esf at good settings maybe 1280 x 1024 and how much it costs,not that it matters but i wanna be ready if its high or low price

You might as well just wait until ESF:F is released. For all we know, the release is in a year, and you may be able to get current good cards for a bargain price, instead of buying an older card now. Plus, by that time, the team will probably have much better knowledge on what the recommended specs are, we will be able to give you better advice on what card you will need.

Thanks a lot bro.But i belieave that a year is a little long but you know best and i also believe that ESF 1.3 will be the best Pc game around.I was wondering...ESF could become a ps3 game?
