problem installing

I have a problem. I have installed halflife fine and then i got to install esf but when it is configuring windows installer it teks ages to do then it says "1608:Unable to create Installdriver instance"
Also my mate has given me a zip file with all the esf stuff on but it says there is nothing in the file to extract when i try to extract the files. Also i have used winzip to try and get it working but it says something similar.

Just dl it again this time without a download manager if you have one, just pause ones and the file is most of the time corrupted, just use the windows dl thingy and the setup should work just fine. If you don't have a dl manager i still recommend to dl it again.

what do u mean dl? and download manager?

john, its me Dan. dl = download and a download manager is something like download accelerator plus (where you can pause your downloads and resume them later)
Like i said, try re-downloading

cold steel means you should dl it by right-clicking on the link to the download and click save as.
