Now, to install the ESF 1.3 Open Beta, just extract the contents of the .rar file into a new folder within your Half-Life folder in your Steam directory.

ESF 1.3 Open Beta doesn't have an executable file.

You need to extract the contents of the .rar file to a new folder in your Half-Life folder, within your Steam directory. Then, just start Steam, and ESF 1.3 Open Beta should be listed under your "My games" tab.

Also, make sure you have Steam and Half-Life first, if you didn't realize that is what you need to play Open Beta from MC's earlier posts.
