Please help, ESF problem

Ok I bought Half Life 2: Collectors Edition and it comes with Half Life: Source and CS: Source and they play those games fine. I installed ESF, then the patch but when I go into third party games and try to run ESF it brings up the thing where you look at packages to buy games... I cant run ESF at all. Why is this? =(

Because ESF is a patch for Half-Life ONE! Now go out and get Half-Life, the first one, so you can start playing!

I figured HL:source was good enough. 80 bucks. oh well no esf for me then?

ESF is a Half Life 1 modification. It will not run on the Half Life 2 engine, or anything based on it.

I think HL-Source is a stripped down HL, I could be wrong... It says it's "digitally remastered"...

HL-source runs on HL2 engine so it is not compatable for ESF

Alright, bought the Half Life collectors edition now and it comes with HL game of the year edition, does THAT work with ESF?! lol...
