Please, do explain how you have reached that conclusion.I think you're a 30 year old in his basement in Sweden, trying to make American youths look stupid. Or maybe that's just the optimist in me.
I refuse to refer to that man as president. I'm reffering to him for the next four years (or until he's assassinated) as Senator.
Well, nice knowing you boys. We're all dead.
While I agree that voting doesn't make that much of a difference in general, I can't help but argue how significant a figure head like Obama is at the moment. This is not because of the colour of his skin, but because of the attitude he has instilled in people, and this is not just in America, this is a ripple that has been felt throughout the world. This is what makes a real difference in society, policies come and go but it is the people of a nation that progress, governments adapt to the needs of it's citizens. It really worries me that people actually CARE about what the outcome of the elections are, they don't matter. Both candidates want the same thing. Expansion of government, more military funding- globalisation. The North American Union and more wars for profit. By the time you're old enough to look back and realise all the elections you've witnessed have promised the same things and delivered nothing, it'll be too late. You're married, you've got a job and responsibilities, you don't have time to be a political activist or something.
If I had a time machine, I would send every single Obama supporter back to a Nixon rally.
I lol'd .
While this would generally be correct, the Democrat supermajority scenario did not play out, as they didn't gain the ground needed in the Senate to win a fillabuster proof majority. Nor did they gain a crippling majority in the house, as they thought they would. The bottom line is that congress has a lower approval rating than even Bush has managed to make for himself, virtually every seat was up for grabs.Personally I really don't know what to say but I think that change will be too much especially considering the fact that democrats occupy most of congress and some decisions will likely pass through. Correct me if i'm wrong but having too much change can be for the worse.
I lol'd also.
