noob question

ok i just got softimage|XSI 5.1. this is my first ever model creating software and i know the basics of whats goin on. but i cant figure out for the life of me how to put an image into the background. ive looked all over but everything is for a dif. version or such and is just slightly off so it doesnt work right...can i get some help please?

or could some1 possibly give me a good linc to how to do it? anything would be much appreciated

i dunno but i gues it has to be like in 3dsm, make a poly from side and front and then model from it, take a look at girs tutorials, thats what i mean.
