Private server are not warez, you buy your own wow game and they host the server files. If it ware warez then blizzard would have sued them a long time ago.
Can you find a legal document that proves that blizzard is doing that?Actually, to play on retail you need a code from inside the cd box, so even if you download wow, you still need to get that code to make an account on their servers. While private servers don't need it.
The reason Blizzard tolerates private servers is that they actually promote WoW. Many of private server players eventually move to retail.
Then why haven't I see any legal actions against it?You know how with every update there's a huge page of the user license agreement? Read that.
It's illegal.
read the EULA (End User Licence Agreement), as Dave pointed out.So, then, pictures taken from cracked/ripped games should also be deleted .
Anyway, you guys are running this forum and you can do whatever you like, so i'll stop being annoying... ...for now, at least.
And BTW, i play on a private server too and i posted quite a few wow pics.
that makes me chuckle, a lot. not only are they admitting they are doing something wrong, but they actually believe that it will stop anyone from blizzard from accessing their site, or shutting them down if they wanted to xDtaken from private server website said:TERMS OF SERVICE:

Warez is warez. He illegally downloaded World of Warcraft, and now he's illegally playing the game. Even if he's showing a screenshot, it's still warez. We all know he's on a private server.Actually, remind me. How is it against the AUP to post a picture of a private server? Does it show how to connect to the server? Does it show it's name? Does it have a download link? >.<
How is it against the AUP if someone says that he's playing in a private server? He didn't give out any name (excluding the Character Selection screen xD pic). Besides, even if he told us what the name of the server is, it has gone so bad that people wouldn't leave retail for it.
Warn? Probably not. Delete? Maybe. Also, if everyone on this thread would admit that they posted a picture from a game they got illegally, would you still warn them or delete all the screenshot?
Private servers are illegal. Simple as that. You may have bought World of Warcraft, or you may play retail. It's still illegal. You're playing a paid game for free. Can you find a legal document that proves that blizzard is doing that?
There have been. Unfortunately, Blizzard isn't taking enough action. Then why haven't I see any legal actions against it?
now then, which part of ZERO TOLORANCE don't you understand?
In my experience, GW ran just as smoothly for me as WoW did. As I recall, I had everything cranked up in GW, but found myself having to tone things down in WoW (I haven't reinstalled WoW since I built my new PC, mind you; I was running WoW with the help of a Radeon 9800 Pro the last time I played it). I never really experienced any choke in GW, whereas it occurred sporadically in WoW. That could be because of the fact that every non-town area in GW is instanced, mind you.Models look very good. Does that produce lag in game? I mean, more lag than in Warcraft?
