Need Help with steam plz....

check that, happens same with the ESF menu, i can hear music, i can hear when i press a button, but i cant see them.....nothing will work, ive searched around, but nobody knows what to do with this problem, i really need some help or else i cant play esf....plz help

Did you install your ESF to C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\(your e-mail)\half-life ?

yes, well kinda, instead of the email it say my account name, i dunno if thats a prob, since there isnt any folder with my email

That's the problem. You have to run half-life prior to installing ESF, then install ESF to the new directory it makes - "...\Steam\SteamApps\(your e-mail)\half-life"
For example, mine is C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\[email protected]\half-life

well what i did is,

1) Download Steam and install
2) start halflife once
3) install esf 1.2
4) try to start esf 1.2

exactly like it says in the manual, but i dont know what to do now, do u think i should deinstall everything and then reinstall it all?(and if that is what i need to do, please say what i exactly need to do so i dont get the problem again =S)

You shouldn't have to reinstall Steam... What directorys do you have in C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\ ?

thats the directory

Hmm... Do you already have half-life items in C:\Valve\Steam\Steamapps\(account name)\half-life\ ?

the deathmatch classic and team forrtres classic, but they dont work either, all they get stuck in the menu

Hmm... I think you should try uninstalling ESF and Steam, then reinstalling both.

When you try to run Half-Life for the first time, after it updates, restart Steam, and then you should have ...\Steam\Steamapps\E-Mail Address\...

I tried reinstalling
I tried puttin in differnt directory's
I tried restarting steam
I tried so much things

Result: Nothing


i guess ill just be sticking to ESF 1.1 and bots for the rest of the time i ever play ESF *sighs* ohwell, thx for the help anyway =\

could this problem also happen becoz i have the newest drivers (i sometimes have problems with new drivers wont working with older games) if that is possible, maybe i could try downloading older drivers o_o

I seriously doubt it's a driver problem. Does anything else in steam work for you? HL or any other mod?

nope nothing else works....and i cant play WON either (no wonder if this game is made for steam) since it wont load anything

can u plz tell me exactly what to do in a list? then ill just trow everything off and reinstall (and maybe make a new steam account so it works) everything

Im very sorry im double posting, but now i really tried everything, i even tried installing older drivers, and im almost positive its the drivers....Alot of people that use ATI are experiencing problems with Steam, like me, i have an ATI too....well its no use anymore, i even tried emailing the Steam Support, but they cant help me.....

Try posting on Steam forums or searching on them to see if anyone else has had this problem. I think its a pc problem or something :/

ive seen other ppl have this "Freeze in menu" problem, but they dont know how to fix it either, but u know whats kinda weird? if i hover my mouse over the place, i can still hear the sounds of buttons, and press them....so it inst really freezed =\
and i dunno if it could be this PC, its new X_x
