Started it tonight...
I need help on the lips and the face, cause when i mirror it, it looks retarded...

what are those egg things? pupils look better skinned on theres no need to put them there >_>. I see you arent even using your side reference, if you did these 2 things he'd look a hell of a lot better, and his face is sloped backwards at the moment, which doesnt really happen in realife, nevermind dbz.

About the lips, the uper lip will always pretrude above the bottom lip. His brow doesnt bend inwards near the middle either, its straight to a point and then there is dip in the very middle of his forhead.

just use a program to enlarge the side image, its not that hard..

well atm theres nothing to "drawover" because the polystructure beneath the mouth is horrible sorry, and pupils do not look cool, they just mess up and i cant crit anything behind them..

my advice is DONT use polycoloring so YOU can tell whether it looks like pikkon without the colors, cuz right now i dont think you can see that becaue you're a beginner

But besides that i think you should redo it because their is alot of poly wastage on his ear etc..

sorry if you think im harsh but its the only way that you are going to learn how to get better results

well, i dont want to start over, i just need to fix some things up. If you could make a drawover of the lip, that would be great. And the ear, I made a Cylinder then shaped it, so thats where the poly wastage is comming from... :/

dan my tip of the day is :p:
when you are making a model and you got fitting reffs make it like that 2 if the side reff says H-6 (geograficaly speaking) you shouldnt put it at A-1 you get wat i mean
and dont make geospheres for pupels every one makes the pupils in the eyes itself

when you rotate around the model, All the jaged edges, fix those

When you pan around the model, it should be smooth, and Flow. You can see on his cheek there, that one poly cuts off the only form of poly flow you have goin on

You need to work on making it nice and smooth. I member when eclipse told me that about ... a year and a half ago. I didnt understand at the time.

When you look at your wire frame, you should see some sort of pattern, A Direction if you will. When i look at your pikkon all i see are jaged edges Green and pink. Work on making it nice and smooth.

As for the pupils, Delete them, They arent doing anything besides making it harder for you yo work with the face. Not to mention they are a waste of polys. I usually dont even put a pupil in. Its generally skinned in, and when its not you only need the top peice of a cylender.

the pupils were just for show, i deleted them right away after I printscreend that. I also deleted the eyes and the lower jaw, Ima work from there. Thanks for the tips :)

since i cant do quads.. i wont... but here is an update... Im not gonna do the ears poly by poly, cause they won't look as good anyway... that way is much easier.. anyway.. tell me what you think...

jaw area is a lot better now, gj
now i would reduce the count a lot on the ear or redo it

but just wondering, why arent you using gmax at this point?

That should help you. Its doesnt line up, but it should help you some.

the front view drawover kinda sux

If i were you i would work off the side img.

And remake the ears, they have way too many polys in them.

update...
redid ears, the eyes suck, just for show. I moved the whole face foward and fixed the nose. Enlarged eyebrows.

ok, im pretty much done with the head... ima fix eyes and brows before i REALLY finish.. lol, C&C please :)



btw, its high poly because, 1... its not for esf, but hopefully a hl2 mod, 2... i find it hard to make the facial features come out clean without alot of polys, 3... there is no 3.

Im not using gmax because tutorial after tutorial isn't helping me understand it... besides milkshape is easier for me, well i think. Id like to move to gmax, ive tried.. but it doesnt work out for me. :/

stop asking these unrelating questions and peoples threads

but seriously, milkshape sucks, try gmax

oh and btw dan, did you use a geosphere for the head, cuz i really doubt you took the time to make all those polies

and it doesnt look mirroed from the back

plus the middle of his face at the front is sqiushed, i can tell from side view

and if it is high poly, then you better fix up ALOT of things because right now the face doesn't match with the rest of the head

thers too many things to mention but thats all for now, plus its an improvement,
