Need help Modeling with steam

I know all these programs well by now 3dmax,Gmax,Milkshape,Quark and maybe some other if i forgot some GOOD one please post the name and links to the sites, but all the tutorials are made for when steam wasnt out all the folder and stuff changed and the dir are all messed up and I can't figure it out it seemed simple at first but then I notice it needed files that were from back then that arent need anymore! Someone help me or direct me to tutorials for this time of year??!?!
