Melee > Ki attacks?

The new melee system is way better then it was in 1.0 or 1.1 but am I the only one seeing how Ki attacks have become useless?

I get on a server and all people do is melee, and melee is more powerful then the Ki attacks. I'll try to use ki attacks but, someone will melee me and then the only way to fight back is to also melee. Now Im good at melee, it really isnt that hard to get good at it when there are only 4 arrows to click; diagonals dont really do anything.

I'll play on servers for over an hour and only seen 1-3 Ki attacks ever used (other then generic balls or normal ki attacks to finish them off with with after you knock them to the ground), the rest is melee melee melee. Its just too easy to spam with.
-- You fly at them, do the 12 hits then charge at them again; do it over and over till they die
-- You fly at them, do the 12 hits and throw them to the ground and finish it off with generic balls or normal ki (the extend of ki attacks in 1.2)
-- You fly at them, do the 12 hits and try to beat them in the arrow system (which isnt that hard)

I think something needs to be done to un-uber melee and make it equal to Ki attacks. Am I the only one seeing this on the servers?

ive also noticed that less ppl have been using beams
but while playing on the server there was 1 guy that only used beams n sb
it pissed me off so much
every1 was in the same small area of the map using adv. melee n throwing ppl, etc
and this guy was bombing us

i reckon this will fade out tho
every1 is using it bcos its a new thing and every1 wants to show off how much they no bout the new system in such a sort time

otherwise they could make all the beams charge slightly faster making them more tempting to use

Melee is supposed to be the dominant weapon. Didn'tcha watch the series? Ki attacks were used sparingly, especially as finishing moves, as they take up a lot of energy (and add to the fanfare).
Of course now more than ever people will be spamming melee, as it's new and improved, and friggin awesome. Eventually melee usage will tone-down, but it should remain the prominent weapon.

I still use ki attacks after tossing the person into something, teleporting away from them and using that short delay between swoops to shoot a quick generic beam. (only seems to work after you've reached perfect transformation).

people dont use ki because the melee is so draining that if they try ki in a clever "bet-you-cant-catch-me-if-i-move-like-this" way then they die. Its closer to the series now that it ever has been...

ok, lets put it this way, look at the people on servers who get the most kills, they use beams and melee, and also look at dbz, there are less ki attacks than melee as well. so just leave things how they are, if people wanna use beams they can, its up to them

The real problem I see is people wanna try the Multiple PSes and BSes, but cant because everyone is melee spamming.
