Major odd, non-funny problems

We have a server running under FreeBSD 4.5, (which you can visit on 131.155.141.103:27045 to see for yourself), but it gives some really strange problems. Here is the report I made:

1. Some sprites, like kahmehameha, spirit bomb etc. etc. aren't shown transperant, eg. including black background, which is supposed to be transperant.
2. The server gives as mod-name: hl-teamplay, while my own Windows dedicated gave Halflife.
3. I was in good team, a friend of mine in the evil team, another guy in the scientist team, and yet another guy in the h-grunt team.
4. When I switch on a aura skill, like powerup and turbo, it lowers a bit. It is, when flying and walking following me from a small distance, and the vapor-trail is missing. It also sometimes gets stuck. The frieza aura is also blue.
5. Weapons higher then number 5 are not shown (like vegeta's final blast and piccolo's masenka). The senzu bean which is supposed to be number 9, is now in number 5, in goku's case right under the solar flare.
6. Attacks are moving SO very slow, I can practically write my own name.
7. Teleporting won't work, neither does change team (when pressing one of those buttons, it sais: unknown action)
8. Selecting cell will result in hanging around at a spawn, with no character.
9. server crashes a LOT, especially when a lot of discs float about. The windows version worked just fine for me. Too bad I don't have such a nice connection as that FreeBSD machine does.

All these make me think that the Wrong MOD is running, but because I can join with ESF, I think it is alpha 2... But I ensure you, the correct linux version was downloaded from this very site. The same machine is running a couple of counter-strike machine's too, and they work just fine. The server is using HL-1110

Oops... I might have packed alpha 1.8, instead of alpha 2.0. That should explain some of those problems. Either that, or i ****ed up some of the configuration files, please check out if they're in linux format.
Sorry for the inconvience, the internet connection to my linux computer is screwed, so i couldn't test it :(

Thank you VERY much. This straigtens some things. Is there any chance that you pack the correct version (and try it? We can help with that, I guess)?

Anyhows, the scaling in ESF maps, is that rougly the same as in CS maps? I plan on making a hyperbolic time chambre.

Scale down is 1/4 size of standard HL in the Beta version. I beleive alpha 2.0 has a 1.1 ratio.

cs has no ratio its the same as hl and my god who would want cs maps??? there so small and ment for guns...

ach toe Herwin , kan je alsjeblieft nog een keer de linux compilen en online gooien.

Het ziet er nu erg brak uit.
En daarbij, hoeveel permanente ESF servers zijn er al online.

Ik denk dat wij een van de eerste zijn die gewoon 24/7 up zijn.

nog een verzoek, hoeveel spelers is goed voor ESF?

It looks pretty crappy right now.

now follows something i can't translate directly (it isn't even a correct dutch sentence i think), but it's about the low amount of permanent esf servers.

I think we'll be one of the first that are running 24/7
Another question, how many players is good for ESF?

Geez... why are all you people posting in Dutch. Please don't do it again without a translation. Oh well... the post above gives you a server-ip, the one above that says that you won't need more than 8 players on your server.

For the linux version, since it has teamplay, it isn't alpha 1.8, i think it's the inteam just before we released alpha 2.0. There were some major changes made just before the release, i'm not sure if i saved those. I do have a version of the code just before the 1/4 resize and the converting to sdk2.2, i'll see if that one is compatible. I'll try compiling it when i'm back at my home at campus (staying with my parents right now). So expect it somewhere next week.

For the joining the team thingie, i'd rather not discus that on the forum, just send Masta, (or me if it's about coding) an email and we'll see if we can use you :)

OK i won't do it again. But i knew that only you can recompile it.

If you do have a SDK2.2 version i can compile it myself.(if youre willing to give it to me)

it's mostly fixed now. I can jump BIG now, but the server still crashes about every 5min, and it just won't switch to deathmatch.

kunnen we gelijk overleggen of er een nieuwe mapper bij moet.
