imovie is one of the programs that ate our mockumentary project. 40 gigs of footage...corrupted. However, Karrde is right--if you want to shell out 3 grand for a computer with 2400x1600 resolution that looks pretty in its operating environment, compliments your furniture's appearance, "looks cool," and you don't plan on doing much of anything besides mp3s and web pages, then you're golden.
Now just to let people understand, I'm not saying that the macs are bad machines. There are just a lot of things I don't like about them. Lacking compatibility...stupid-ass interface and folder layout...terrible, terrible idea of having a binary locational file system as its base. I have also had a lot worse experiences with Macs then PCs, but the simple fact is, you have to be a lot more educated to get the most out of a PC.
That's why I like PCs more--they tend to reward people who care more about them (i.e. improving your framerate via tweaking a card's settings), and reprimand people who don't (i.e. dumbass brats who download photoshop off of kazaa getting mad malware, spyware, and viruses).
I never like anything that was "dumbed down" (read: gamecube). lol
And, like I said...I've personally experienced EVERYTHING that guy has said.
