Join a server and *poof* halflife dissapears

It gives no errors at all, just goes back to the desktop. I wouldn reinstall halflife but my bro has lost the disk....

Any help would be pretty nice

Try to use Direct3d instead of opengl
You can change is in the video modes

Well, every other mod i have installed works fine and runs with opengl so i dont think its my halflife and i dont really want to be stuck playing in direct 3d. I've already reinstalled ESF and its made no difference. o.0

Well if you want to try reinstalling you could get your CD key from the registry but unless you know what you are doing I wouldn't play in the registry.

Nope, no idea what im doing in the registry but i've fixed it. I had to delete the esf folder manually before reinstalling. I guess something was put in there (possibly downloaded when i was joining a server ;/) that messed it up. Thanks for your help anyway
