Let's not make this into a Flame thread.... But why would it be on WoN after Steam took over? Yeah yeah, I know steam can be a pain, but why would they release it on WoN? Think about it..... Steam fixed more bugs that WoN couldn't Fix.

I haven't really found many bugs with WON...if WON had lots of bugs, no one would have used it in the first place.

I heard that WON will be getting shut down in the not to distante future, so you'll probably have to change over to STEAM.

Yes, there aren't many bugs for ESF 1.1 on WON, but don't forget that ESF 1.2 is coming out soon and if there are any problems with the code, or something that an average joe won't be able to fix, the team isn't going to care. I support them on this as well, becuase Steam is far superior to WON anyway, those that refuse to change are usually just conservative bungholes who don't want to change.

some times change can be for the worse. and others for the better. i know what your talking about phatt slugga but you have to understand that people have different opinions. and with different opinions comes different likings. So naturally some people are going to like WON better than steam and vise versa. And i dont know about you but i found very few bugs with won. i dont even know if they are bugs they could just be my computer. but i have found bugs with steam. ones i cant figure out how to fix. So, for people who are opinionated (not talking about you phat) your going to have to learn to realize the fact that not everyone is going to agree with you.

Also, although steam seems to have caused more problems then won, don't forget, there's a strong point behind it that one day won is gonna be closed down and everybody will either have to play with steam or don't play at all...Also, one day if all the mods out there (including esf) is gonna go to HL2 and the HL company is closing down steam, history will repeat itself...lol

Everyone keeps saying it's going to close...but it still hasn't.

And everyone keeps saying that Steam is superior...but I haven't really found anything special about it. Except it has menu music?

I agree, my opinion is that steam is far superior, and most people can't say why WON is better, except for the excuse of the 56kers. Even though I used to play with a 56k and never got a lower ping than 200 (pretty much unplayable). So I don't see the real big difference if your ping was abit higher.

Yes, it doesn't look like decaying ass, You can alt tab and multi-task without going through any bull****, it has it's own bandwidth so you can directly download patches (at a fast rate may i add) from steam itself, it has tons of buddy features so you can conveniently find friends communicatre with them, and join them in their games, and a bunch of other little features that make it great.

People are always saying "You said WON will go down, but look it's still up and running so HA!"

Well Steam is still in beta (which also answers the oh so annoying 'why all the bugs?' question) and until it's ready to be released as a final product, WON will stay up so people that have problems with it can still play online. Valve isn't dumb, they're handling this well, and once steam is done (seems like it almost is, I haven't had one single problem for about a month now) WON will be done with and most people will realize that it is indeed a better program.
