installing problem

i dont have half life only half life 2 so i cant play the game at all.
if that is ture than when are they going 2 do it for half life 2.

When i try to play it says error finding client.dll and i checked and i hav it PLZ RESPOND A.S.A.P.

Same problem here, "install" button won't let me click

I tried it again and again and again...
I opened the tutorial, the first level...
It's NOT helping me.
It STILL doesn't work.
I still CAN'T press 'Install'.

So maybe the problem is not in the HL files.

works fine for me , i always have to do it each time i wanna play online at my net cafe , so in a sence it does work , or your computer is the devils trash can or bill gates sent you a worm

OK so let me tell you step by step:
1: Download STEAM and install it
2: Let STEAM update itself
3: Create an account (if you dont have one already)
4: Open STEAMS Browse Games window and click on "Register a product i already own."
5: Enter the CD-key and choose the settings (STEAM tells you what is to be done)
6: Open the play games menu and download Half-Life (rightclick menu)
7: After it is instaled open STEAMs monitor and wait till Half Life updates to 100%
8: Run Half Life once and exit (use the Play Games menu to start it)
9: Install ESF 1.2.3 Full installer (or ESF 1.2 and then the patches)
10: Have fun ^^

Oh and step 5 will give you an error if you did it already or someone got your CD key registerd.

If that dosent help you then i have no idea what can -_-

esai can help , otherwise known as the lan version of cs1.6 , but if all else fails , then i am afraid you are doomed my little friend

ok when they are saying run half life once.... he means run it once THROUGH STEAM. do not run half-life through WON, its not the same thing. had the same problem, did the same thing, it fixed it.
