instalation problems

well first i unwised 1.1 then i tried to instal 1.2 and it didnt ask if i wantet to use steam or won then when i try to play weird things happen like when i throw the guy im throwing disappears while i swing him and reapears when i throw him plus when i melee adv melee that is my char disappears and reappears when im done adv melleing, when i enter the costumize option there is a option to choose a spraypaint wich i can do usually when i try on the other comp i then tried ti install steam and if i try to instal esf after this it does ask won or steam but the things with my or the opponent char disapearing mentioned above still happens plus the spray paint thingy... any suggestions on a solution?

It's not suppost to ask you won or steam. You pick the directory where half-life is installed. The disappearing opponent happens when you work in Software mode. Make sure your using OpenGL or DirectX. That's in the Video tab.
