the mdl is made out of 220 animation files (smd)
1 object file (smd)
some BMPs and a QC file...

im trying to import a model from my ESF dir into Milkshape for practice modeling but it has over 200 animations.. and i have to import them 1 by 1... is there any faster way to import it all the the ms?

or even better.. any1 have a ready ms3d model? (doesnt matter which character...)

lol who the **** told you have to import all animations xD
just press import and look for the .smd which has the name of the model... goku.mdl the 3d smd must be goku.smd xD and import it as hl smd :p

i want the model with the animations....
if i only import the mesh smd it won't come with them.

also, when i import an animation it seems that the bones (model) goes below the 0,0 point..
i mean.. when out of anim mode he stands on the grounds... and when performing animation he does it inside the ground

omg... such a n00b... you dont want to import it with the animations!! YOU JUST DONT!!
1.Decompile Model
2.Import Mesh SMD
3.Do whatever you want with it
4.Replace Mesh SMD with new one
5.Compile Model

and the model automaticly has all animations

im no noob that is obvious.
what i want to do is to edit the model with all it's animations in blender3d (if u ever heared of that program) to get to perfection level and higher poly count models.
I dont intend on re-exporting it into MDL but a blend format. which will allow me to improve that model and creat a nice ESF MOVIE witch characters actually TALKING and doing other ****.
now, is there a way to import all the animations as well? or no?

[edit] dont worry about the credits.

i will ofc make my own animation.
it should be a parody video of ESF. therefor i need it's animations.
animations of my own will be only animations which the model doesnt have like - talking, pointing (taking a dump-*spoiler*)

can u help? or no?

its been a while since I have used milkshape, but as best as I can remember you can import the reference .smd, and the other .smd files are its animations.

you can import these 1 by 1, so far as I know there is no other way.

final count for the amount of models I released for esf back in the day (most of which are long gone) is 47, so if anyone would know it would be me.

as for this,
dont worry about the credits.
I can tell we are going to get along lovely, (that was sarcasm of course)

Well MS3D doesnt havestorage for multiple animations. So you can only edit one by one. And because of that they didnt umplement a feature like multi import.

As for the animations themself. The .mdl format has a limit of 128 animations. Its only in ESF:Final that we hacked the compiler to allow 512. So you might need multiple models with different sets of animations if you want to make an ingame movie.
