You need Steam and Half-Life 1 (tied to your steam account) Azraindie.

ESF 1.2.3 is the most played and latest stable version. ESF Open Beta Final is the half finished release to public which was done last year. ESF 1.1 reversed is version 1.1 put on STEAM.

I'd recommend 1.2.3 if you want to play against people. ECX might be worth downloading but has balance issues.

You need a legal copy of HL1 tied to a STEAM account in order to play any of them though. Without it, we won't be able to solve any issues you might have.

That is not a problem of the steam version of esf being installed on the WON version of HL1 if we are talking about the box in the upper left corner that says "Multyplayer". I have both the WON version of HL1 and the Steam version with the same esf 1.2.3 installed on both. That box only appears on the WON version of HL1 when OpenGL mod is used.

The Steam version of ESF 1.2.3 being installed on the WON version of HL1 isn't causing the box to appear. The WON version of HL1 in general makes that appear when OpenGL mod is on.

1. it's not esf + won error
2. it happens when u use esf + won + open gl mod

which are mutualy exclusive bang your head on desk now
