i can' t play open beta

The open beta will not work if you dont run it through STEAM.

So use STEAM.

That error message comes up only when you try to use ESF outside of STEAM. Basically WON (the old system) cant handle the code ESF is using. But STEAM can.

So you need to have Half Life installed in STEAM and ESF installed in Half Life. Since Half Life is the core of the game its the thing that has to be under STEAM.

Playing without steam would be against the rules and I'm afraid we don't support piracy. Sorry.

You need STEAM as the updated multiplayer platform. You cant use the 1.3 code on the old WON platform for 2 reasons.

1.) It died 5 years ago

2.) Its to outdated to handle the new stuff.

HL is only 9$ on STEAM. And we only support people who dont pirate it ^^
