Huge beam warning

well in dbz, i recall never seeing sombody charge a huge beam without the their opponent noticing because they could sense the energy being put into the attack and so on. However, after playing esf im sure u notice the people who sit and charge huge beams, and when u come out of melee with sum1 bam ur dead, well ive come up with a little suggestion which i think would work.

I'll just tell you what the warning would be like, no reading involved with the warning, simply when sum1 charging a beam that can kill you, and they are somewhere (no matter how far away) on your screen, an effect of white-ish tansparent lines in a cricle all appear focussing on the player charging the beam and plays a sound (a suprise sound like in budokai) as soon as the beam is big enough to kill you or if you look around and it already has that power then it will do the same thing, and it only lasts 2-4 seconds.

whatever you are doing to get this warning the player charging the beam must be on your screen, during advanced melee, if you use ur mouse to look behind it will give you the warning too.

This idea may need sum tweaking but tell me what u think :)

i think just the sound would be enough.. cuz the circle kinda gives the shooter like no chance.. atleast with only the sound theres still some interaction with the shootee.. like him looking around to see where it is n stuff

oh wow nice... i think this should happen when...

1. you are not in advance melee (cuz u are invulnrable anyways)

2. its capable of taking away your maximum HP in one shot (incase u hav 1-20 hp)

3. instant the attack is FIRED

and white lines only happen if the shooter is in sight, but sound plays regardless

abit useless
it shure will be nice to do that but if i do lets say final flesh u will know run away and still may be posible to die because of its strangth

well i think it would be beter like this.. if u have scouter on u se a red dot, which when ure atacker is fireing, would flash repeatedly... and of course if he would be in line of sight.. it would flash and display the lines.. bla bla bla... :)

Well, we have these happy campers, who fire homing attacks from places where they hide. This is a nice counter, to get rid of them.

heh, yeah u know what i mean, its just i have a rediculous habbit of getting to 20% health and then the guy im fighting or me gets shot with a kamehameha.... i find it really annoying

maybe they could just add a little flashing "!" (mgs style) when someone is charging a larger beam (forget about the generic beams)

its kinda hard to get someone with beams on 1.2
if ull give them a warning it will be impossible, theyll just swoop/teleport away

btw it has been suggested befor and rejected....

mayB a warning for beams like final flash or charged bigbang
hust stuff that can kill u with 1 hit!!!
that woul be a nice change!!!! so u can charge them abit less or shoot them at full power and blow them up befor they hit

that can be nice but will realy make the game HARD!!!

Thats the point- making it hard helps the strategy. So ull have to know when to use what.

well, it isnt that hard to get people with beams, not if u know what you're doing, today just recently i went on a server, people started joining, i had the top score of 20 or sumthin, then people using beams sitting far away in a nice spot just stay there and nuke 2-5 people at a time getting to 20 in less than half the time i was on that server, and in dbz (yes in the actual show which this game is based on) people sensed huge attacks (thats why i said attacks with enough power to kill in one blow) and try their best to avoid it, thats all im saying, because a powerful attack is hard to ignore, i just think it'd be nice to have some indication because im always in the middle of these beams, and wen u try to get the beam whores they got enough time to charge a little sumthin up blam u with it and then melee ur ass. True the stratergy is well played, its just i get into so many fun fights and it all gets cut short, where i think in a dbz world it shouldnt. I dunno...... im just ranting but its the only 1 thing that does put me off esf, especialy when people use special beam cannon repeatedly >_< lol

But as i was saying, i can hit people with beams with a 75% success rate (1 in 4 tries), it takes a lil practice and needs to be well timed but its pretty easy when you know how.

I suggested in another thread that beams heads will appear on the scouter in a color and like all the other dots the bigger they are the more powerful the attack is.

or have a warning bar at the site of the screen were the attack gets preformed.
so you get a good site on where the attacks comes from.
and when you have it on screen, than he get's somekind of circel arownd him so you can be atleast be on time to block it.
